so...as i make fun of my face book friends for having too much time on their hands...i sit here in new york with way too much time on my hands ;) basically the hurricane put this show about 4 days behind and since we were ahead of schedule, we are waiting for the world to catch up. today i came across a video from some of my good friends and one of my favorite music theatre writers/friends. im sure for the most part none of ya'll are music theatre buffs so i try to spare you all the details unless im working with a band you might have heard of...but this guy writes a lot of good stuff. for some reason i've always been very fond of this tune:

oh god...bears sign josh mccown...here we go again.

illegal hits on qb's should receive immediate fines...i cant believe the nfl still hasn't fined dobbins yet.

Rothlesburger went out last inght with a shoulder injury, Leftwich is our only backup. It's not good.
 
If Rex Ryan wasn't so stuck on Sanchez, he might actually get to play. Stupid Rex thinks Sanchez is still okay to start.

in the past they did.

now that the league is on the hook for medical care after their careers the rules are much more in favor of keeping players healthy.

How many concussions do you think went unreported before the last few years? I thought it was the new helmets that sucked, but then it dawned on me that there have always been concussions, just that now they're reported.

Have you seen Jim Mcmahon lately?

a lot of concussions went unreported...now teams are required to pull players if they show symptoms of one. the league has already investigated and cleared the bears for their handling of cutlers hit...however, they haven't put any pressure on dobbins yet for delivering the hit. according to dobbins "cutler ran into him"...more awesome quotes from dobbins

“No,’’ said Dobbins, who says he doesn’t think he should be fined for the hit. “I felt like it was on time.’’

Do you think your hit was what gave Cutler the concussion?

“I have no idea,’’ he said. “No clue. But it was good that he was out, though. You always want to take the quarterback out of the game.’’

agreed, but think about Huston for a sec. you know how fast they will write a check that wins a game.
IMO with out that hit, bears win. cutler has a fantastic 4th rating and they were only down by 6. so lets say 8 mins left in the 4th and he throws a rocket to Marshall for a TD, and bears defense takes care of the rest.

obviously the hit was wrong, but Huston will have no problem writing a check that keeps them 8-1 and knocks the bears confidence down a notch

agreed and the quote i posted about dobbins proves that. they've had a few fines slapped on them this year.

i just hope they can play the niners tough, even without cutler. i actually don't care if they win, but if the defense can contain them i will be satisfied. im not even sure if alex smith will be ready to play, but it certainly will be a good illustration about why the nfl needs to crack down on cheap shots if 2 of the best teams in the nfc play eachother on monday night with 2nd string qb's

it shouldn't just be fines for hitting quarterbacks.

Any helmet to helmet hit should be flagged. Sadly the enforcement is inconsistent. If that were James Harrison that put Cutler out of the game, he would have likely been flagged right there, and fined the next day, because he's got a reputation for hitting people hard.
