josh not going to lie, i thought Luck did pretty decent for his 1st NFL game, although thought it was kinda funny early on when Peppers sacked him and he fumbled, all i could think was "welcome to the NFL"

Holy crap, I missed 8 pages? You guys were busy. Instead of wheeling yesterday, I laid in the jeep and my tent being sick......not my idea of a good wheeling weekend. I got to wheel for all of an hour. It was good to see Brad, Molly, FatJesus, Craig and Chaz! Even though Chaz heckled me all day!
Doesn't sound like my idea of fun.

I spent a good part of this weekend helping a couple of friends move.

While unloading the first truckload, a passerby stopped into the driveway to solicit help from someone to help moving his junk into his house. He said he had a heart condition, it would only take about 20 minutes, he would pay us good money and his wife said she just needs her bed and dresser in the house.

Being that we're good people, we said sure. Took about an hour. We had to move the whole trailer into the house. Okay, so what did we expect, right? It came to payment. He asked us what we wanted. Being that I don't like to throw out a number first, I told him to pay us what he felt was appropriate. He lifted out this wad of cash and had a look on his face like "You're gonna be thrilled with this, probably the best cash you've ever made." and handed us a 20 each. I almost threw it back at him. But hey, it was still money. The guy just totally misrepresented what we were getting into.

That makes one of us. Maybe I'm just still used to seeing the caliber of Manning. This team is wicked young and has a long road ahead now.

I suspect the refs rode in on the 49ers bus.

really...i would say the opposite...

that no call clip on the the punt return was bs...packers need a stronger defense. rogers started slow this game, but no doubt will be on his game on thursday. pack could really use a running back! i was actually surprised by their o-line play. when the niners came after rogers, they got to him a lot. they moved the ball a lot better when san fran was only sending 3 rushers.

bears showed moments of sharpness...i have a feeling if their offense can keep clicking better and better, they will put a lot more points on the board than last year. im scared about their secondary. they show sings of being really good, but played sloppy at times. not sure if tillman is hurt or not...urlacher was in and out. it will help them a lot when he is 100%...i will venture to guess this is the beginning of the end for him though

bring on thursday....

oh and BEAR DOWN!!!!

I'll give you that. And only that. I am not a fan of either team and I'm very capable of putting forth a completely unbiased opinion. Numerous missed pass interference calls, BS call of roughing the passer, HUGE offsides miss that resulted in a turnover. Not to mention how it took 30 seconds to throw the flag on either team.

I know they're not used to the NFL level of officiating, but rules don't vary that dramatically that one would require that amount of time to decide if it were a penalty or not. Poor officiating no matter who you were cheering for.

i agree 100% i watched few games today and the officiating was painful at times...calls that should have been made, calls that werent made. the packer/niner game was the most shoddy calls of any of the games i watched today. i feel like the bear game was okay from that standpoint. i have a feeling we will see the red challenge flag a lot until the real refs are back. the packer game was damn near 4 hours long

Yeah, the Chicago/Indy game was a decent job by the officials. It's going to be interesting to say the least. It's something new every year, I suppose.

I'd rather drink the KoolAid at Lambeau Field than root for the Patriots. Go Colts! As shitty as you may be...

Edit: I'm noticing also that the officials are having a very difficult time spotting the ball.

I think Luck has tons of potential, not every rookie QB will come out and play good. RGIII did play well, but lets see how well he plays next week. I wasn't expecting the Colts to win today, just was hoping to see a good sign for the future. Lucks stats for today matched another rookie QB's first game stats. Peyton Manning's first game as a Colt was almost exactly the same (Luck had seven more yards). As for the Bears, yeah, they won today but I still say they are watching the playoffs the same place as the Colts more then likely, from their couches.

The Colts could have kept Manning and had two or three more years, but with any luck, the Colts will have 10 plus years of winning once the team gets up to snuff.

so your saying a team that puts up over 400 yards of offense, 41 points and other than a few stupid blown coverages, looks really solid has no chance of going to the playoffs???

seriously???

cutler has receivers to throw to for once and 2 decent running backs...im usually pretty pessimistic about the bears offense, but for once they actually have a potentially explosive offense. their defense is what usually keeps them in games. if they build on what they did today, they will no doubt make the playoffs. injuries will be a huge factor in that of course. their first big test is thursday night in lambeau...i have no doubt that they can beat the packers (not that they will) but they have a really legit shot.

i would love to hear your reasoning as to why the bears will more than likely be out of the playoffs???

IF Luck pans out. It's all too often the number 1 draft pick comes out of the box with all this hype and fails to produce. I'm not holding my breath. The smart thing to do would have been to keep Manning on and have Luck under him for tutelage. Look how well it worked in with Favre and Rodgers. Hell, Rodgers is even better than Favre. Manning, being the stand up guy he was, had the love for the organization that he would have taken a stretched out payment plan and reduced pay to give room for the salary cap if Irsay had asked him. He had done it before.

Anyway, it's all a crapshoot right now.
