starting this day off with a large dose of AWESOME! My pumpimg crew has ran nonstop for 48 hours and they have 2 of the 3 ponds completly full and will have the 3rd done today. It is a nice 51 degree mroning and the steam is rolling from the valleys, cattle are nice and cool and I am leaving for the Lake of the Ozarks in about 6 hours to chill on the houseboat for the weekend....AND....if all goes as planned, I will have a new project XJ awaiting my arrival when I return! I need another project like I need the clap....again.

Sean, you can't buy a vehicle and not touch a wrench to it for 30 days..... bet ya can't! Shoot, that goes for most of the MWC.

I didn't touch Jennie's XJ for 60 days, then it got shiny electric fans, then a radiator in Harlan.

Now it needs an output seal on the t-case.

Can't afford to go wheeling so I broke out the RC crawler and the battery is shot......oh and I broke a shock!

Well, this is sort of interesting......

I see that Lisle Corp. is producing a tip/tool for an air hammer, designed for removing frozen hubs on Dodge front axles. It does pretty much the same thing as beating on the head of a sacrificial bolt, or by using a socket & extension braced against the inner C with the power steering trick. Looks like it should work fairly well on a hoist. Unfortunately, it doesn't look like they're producing it for D30 applications. Then again, you could probably make your own from a 12pt 13mm impact socket & impact extension.

As long as you don't mind mushrooming over the head, go for it. Using a socket preserves the bolts.

I'm not about to go out and buy the Lisle tool, but if I was working under a lift day in and day out, it might be something good to have in the back of the tool box.

I just sacrifice a socket with the air chisel.

works good
just destroys the 3/8" drive hole.

well...the finger appears to be doing well. there is not a lot of redness around the wound and i was able to close it tight with steri strips within a reasonable amount of time. this morning i got the first round of strips off without them breaking the wound open. it is pretty swollen still, i think it should heal pretty well. i don't know whats more stupid about this...the fact that i did this to myself by doing something really stupid, or the fact that i knew exactly how to clean, dress and close a wound of this size using steri strips.

No idea. Remember when we changed my axle shaft in Moab?

Just falls out :D

I appreciated your geographic location when I busted the shafts in Harlan last year.

I've never had a unit bearing just come out.

Which is why there's half a dozen spare unit bearing bolts i nmy toolbox.

I've put over 2000 miles on the jeep since the first of the month an my coopers will not be seeing another wheeling event. Thats almost 38,000 miles since the beginning of the year. Planning on 33s with the new rims I got, but I'm really starting to think that I will be buying a car as my next daily driver... I've really been liking the new Dodge Dart in looks and performance...

Tonight I'm packing up the uhaul and by tomorrow night I will be living in Maplewood, MN.
