Important

Good news:

Tonight during a drive around town, I found out who was leaking coolant at the last trail clean-up.

Rev

towed the scouts in the parade yesterday. the overflow bottle was venting out the cap... and melted a battery clamp. Just another day owning a 22 year old heep.

Good thing I have a locker!

I like that, I maybe getting my dads guns. Might be temp. or permanent.

The list I know of is:
*Smith and Wesson 9mm
*22/22mag revolver
*380/38 sp handgun
*357 Magnum
*22 rifle with a 8x30 scope
*22 rifle (unknown shape)
*410 shotgun (unknown shape, but been told it fires fine)
*410 shotgun (unknown shape)

The two unknown shape and my dad said he wouldn't fire them. If I keep them, I plan on having a gun smith check them out to see if they are in good firing shape. The 22 rifle with a scope might need a new extractor.

I believe he has ammo for all his guns, but don't know of quantity. I know I can afford to get 9mm shells from time to time. Don't know how much 380, 38sp, or 357 shells run though.

Yes, fir serious. Honestly, I can sit here and come up with quite a few reason why to part it out or sell it outright, but my main reasons are things that have been buiding up over time. Kindof like the jeep. lol In the beginning when I started with xj's I had so much fun and was excited everytime to go wheeling. With my jeeps over the past few years they have gotten bigger and in my opinion out of control in a way.

I never wanted to go to 6.5" lift in a jeep with 36" tires but the deal was there and I could not pass it up. I never wanted to go full width but the deal was there and I could not pass it up. I never wanted a stroker in my wheeler, the deal was there and I could not pass it up. Can you see where I am coming from on this? Things just slowly got bigger and way more than what I wanted. Was this my fault? 100% yes because I made the decision to do it. Was it a good decision? I thought so at the time.

Then it comes to where to wheel. I have some good friends with private land to wheel but for good parks they are many hours away for me and at this time I just cannot justify the expence for a wheeling trip in my mind these days. I traveled 2.5 hours to a park yesterday so I could attend Trucks Gone Wild. Again at this park I was greatly dissapointed in how well things were put together. But that is a whole nother story for another day.

In the future I will be building something smaller and more enjoyable for ME. I honestly love wheeling my wifes jeep. I have the experience behind the wheel now that I can have so much fun wheeling a smaller rig. It breaks my heart to make the decision to do this but in MY mind it is the right thing to do. Wow, I think that is my longest post on NAXJA. :D

Well you still need to wash a small jeep :D

I can see where you are coming from, I want to stay right on the edge of street legal so I can drive to the trail whenever I want and keep towing for longer trips like winterfest or nacfest.

Either that or finish my build (ha) and use the old bed to build a spare parts trailer... and simply tow it on long trips with every spare I could ever need inside.

It prolly is, i almost didn't read it :D but since i asked i did.

it seems a lot of people are steering towards the DD/wheeler rigs, something you can drive to the trail and home. i guess since mine is still set up that way, i wonder why people get rid of fully built rigs.

Hence, also being known as the North American Station Wagon Association.

I can't argue with Kim, there's a lot to be said about doing more with less.

Kim if you get buyers north let me know I travel to Houghton, Marquette, and Escanaba on a weekly basis. I can be your delivery guy. Been going to GB about every other week too.
