no room for more junk around here, I'm cleaning house!

Boat...oh yes, I have about 5 picked out! I have to narrow it down and will wait until after the 4th of July holiday to see if I can haggle prices....if not, then I will wait until fall or winter for the lower prices.

Tyler, I thought you were pulling out the cage?

stuck in a dark theatre...cant use my phone till break, so naxja will have to do for now. im officially bored and we are 10 min into our 12 hour day. sweet

in other news t minus 6 days till my diesel drive train is en route to iowa behind the xj. im a little worried about the tow through pennsylvania (jeep is on 31's and stock gears) but once i get into ohio it will be smooth sailing as the terrain flattens out. i don' think i will quite match my 20mpg on the way here.

anyone ever pull a 5x9 open uhaul trailer? not the car trailer, but the cargo version? im trying to figure out which would be the easier pull and i have a choice between the 4x8 trailer that is enclosed or the 5x9 that is open. the open trailer is about 80 dollars more than the enclosed trailer, but if its going to pull better i will probably make that up in gas over the 1000 miles. the motor might be a pain to put in the enclosed trailer, but part of me tells me that its lighter than the open trailer too. either way its not the ideal tow, but the motor isn't that heavy (about as heavy as a v8) so it might be okay. plus, both the enclosed trailer and the open trailer sit lower than the xj which means they shouldnt drag wind too bad. occasionally i tow a 6x12 goose hunting trailer and even though its aluminum, the wind drag is just horrible.

I would go with the enclosed if for nothing more than cost and security.

If you go with an enclosed, make sure you find some way to secure the motor!! Jacks, straps, blocks of wood, blankets, anything and everything you can get! I speak from experience pulling a 4x8 enclosed back from WF with a 4.0 in the back. I thought I had enough support until I pulled over cause I was draining oil out the trailer cause the motor ripped the tie-downs right out of the uhaul...

Needless to say, I spent an extra day repairing it before I returned it... Also, the Bumper/tie-down strips in the enclose uhauls are only attached with long staples... No strength... I'd go with an open if I had to do it again...

I wouldn't worry, just keep the converter from locking up and you'll be fine.

That sounds plausible...

we are sold on either a Crownline or a Cobalt. We had a Baja before and it was fun, but we are wanting a nicer/classier unit now...I know, I know..me, classy?? LOL

I am going back and forth on if I want to buy an older boat I pay cash for or get a newer one and get into some payments.....still a lot of nice boats out there that are a few years older then I originally wanted, but under $10,000. I found a nice Cobalt in Austin, TX but I am not going down there for a few weeks and I am sure it will be sold by then.

long damn day...the girl who runs the sound board for the actual shows at this theatre had a little melt down at the end of the night. why the hell can't some people just do their jobs and not make it seem like the weight of the world is on their shoulders and that people are out to get them. if this show tanks, its on my ass and not hers. its been a long time since i've worked with a sound engineer who doesn't annoy the hell out of me. thats why rock and roll shows are a nice change of pace...im in charge of my world and i answer to myself. in the theatre world, i make things sound pretty but its in someone else's hands to carry out the operation of the show. its like building a really awesome capable xj, then letting a someone stupid drive it. they're always going to find something to blame when they get stuck, when ultimately its not the rig that failed...its the driver. ugh...well i have the 4th off so at least i only have to put up with bs for 4 more days. this is an easy show too...it also annoys the crap out of me when people make the easy shows hard. i don't ever want to coast though a show, but dammit if a show is easy we should be doing a great job and enjoying how easy it is...not creating drama to make the show more difficult.

aaaaand....rant off....goodnight all

My long-arms showed up tonight, Custom made by IronMan4x4Fab and are the first of their kind, for the cross-member I used.

I'm really hoping my 5.5 coils show up tomorrow so I can hopefully get everything put together at work (only 2 appointments booked).
