Considering scrapping my TSL plans and getting these:

Kumhos not a bad tire. and those look like half claw and have BFG.

is it just me or does the middle of that tread remind you of transformers?

Only thing about those, Nate, is they look like a directional tire, if you are ok with that goferit.

Mike those do look pretty sweet too.
I'm alright with that. I'll have a non directional AT for a spare. Seems to me that's the direction I want to go if I don't want to have two sets of tires.

I really like the looks of the Cooper's too, but they're more expensive and heavier. The 31" kumhos are less than 50 lbs, trying to not break the turdy five :)

Looks good OT ... How are you going to skin it, and how much are you covering?

Les

needs more triangulation :D
looks good OT. I vote for skinning up to the lower door bar and the horizontal bar behind the b pillar.

That's the plan.
Don't need any stray mud particles venturing topside.
I still have to caulk up the seam between the rocker and floor.

I agree - the front end being where all the weight is suspended might like a little extra support than just the frame rails and sheet metal tranny hump...

Taco time? :D

and Ive hung out with the "MWC guys" twice this year...

not that it really matters anyhow...

That's already in the plans.
I'm going to need to tie into the unibody in at least two other
places, besides the two on the front bumper.

My neighbor had the buckshots on his TJ before he went to TSL's. He liked them, I called the local distributor last night, 425 out the door in the 31" flavor.

My cousin had a set of those on a S10. They where good in the mud, but didn't last to long. IIRC he only got about 20/25K out of them. He is kind of hard on tires though, and I would say his extended cab short bed S10 was a bit heavier than a MJ. Especially sense he always had a bunch of heavy junk in the bed, and frequently pulled trailers heavier than he should have been with it.

I think that's about what my neighbor got on his TJ, he said he had them 3 years. They weren't to the wear bars, but I wouldn't have driven on them in the rain.
I'm already anticipating faster tire wear becasue of the detroit.

Your MJ ins't your only transpertation eather. I have looked into them too, but I need a better wearing tire. Think I might try the Toyo Open Countrys, or the Cooper Discover ATR's when my BFG KO's are done for. I've heard the Coopers are a pretty good tire as far as on road traction, and wear is conserned. My ex has a set of them on her Grand, but it's a 5.2/ NP249 combo so I'm not going to get a good idea there.

incorrect. I DD the beast every day, average about 300 miles a week, so good street manners are important. That's why I was looking at those Kumhos, supposedly a good MT, but decently mannered.
That was also the primary reason for getting two sets of tires, but I just don't know if I can afford that right now.
