When I talk to guys with gas rigs, the biggest thing I notice is the hills. I set the cruise and forget about it. The boost gauge goes up and down with the elevation change but I'm cruising at 70. Guys with gas rigs have told me the power isn't there in the hills.

this is why i miss towing diesel..... my 1/2 ton gasser does fine but i still hate planning for hills. Im thinking about putting a salvage tcase in and selling my chevy pile.... i really like it but it needs tons of money, and in the next 4 years id like to have a two place for her jeep and my buggy. putting $$$ into the 1/2 ton just seems like a waste, plus i do more towing than just wheeling so its a justifiable expense for me

Short"tasted the diesel life before and want it back"xjdoug

2.5 hours of the trip done, rest off at the 'rents now that I have the Jeep all packed up...
Time to get the trailer and finish the 8hours of Driving I have left...

Ex - Out

In the spirit of WF I took the Jeep out of the garage for the first time in a couple months and played in the snow.

I think Sunday after WF, I will be heading up to Indy to see Tornado Alley Movie since Sean Casey and the TIV2 will be there. It maybe a bucket list item of mine to be in the TIV2 while they intercept a tornado. The Tiv was better built for intercepting over the Dominator since Tornadovideos.net just modified a Surbaban.

lol...we were supposed to have the tiv at the imax theatre but they never made it happen. i did get to assemble the tornado alley movie and preview it when it came in. its pretty sweet

I watched this show religiously for the past three years, tornadoes scare the crap out of me, but fascinate me at the same time. I hate the fact that the network cancelled the show. TVN is doing webisodes and I wish Sean Casey would do the same thing. I watch the show for the thrill of the chase.

Anybody going to WF > kman.

I was close to a tornado as a youngster, I've got zero desire to get close to one ever again. I watched a couple of episodes of storm chasers a couple of years ago. I thought the people with the TIV were idiots in regards to automotive and mechanical issues.

my house almost got destroyed by one the day I was moving in.

It also almost hit me on my way to the house, with my bed in the back of the MJ, and nearly swatted some of my friends who were coming to visit me in a small airplane right out of the sky.

I'm perfectly ok with our average of 1 tornado per 50 years here.

And now, back to packing.

The RMV and insurance managed to completely foul things up and I have to go back to finish the registration in the morning, so I won't be rolling in till very late tomorrow. Was hoping to drive through the night and arrive around 5-7pm
