Important

I should have mentioned that, it'd definitely get a set of Ride-Rites. Better to have the capacity and not need it than need it and not have it. Air bags would address the spring differences and I'm fine on axle ratings.

Also I'm not sure when or why I fell in love with Ford's trucks, but apparently I did.

I just put a set of air shocks on the Suburban. Not the same as bags, I realize, but I'm not hauling like a pickup. Just want to remedy any squat with a car trailer. The camper has a WD hitch.

Not sure why you love Ferds either... especially looking at a 6.0.

And they didn't take any bailout money.

Neither did GM... back in 97 :D

^ Not as part of the big bailout. But they did receive money from the gov't in a different way.

I did when the 6.7 trucks came out. Can't hide it anymore. I still would rather have a Cummins but Chrysler and their shitty transmissions make me want to punch kittens.

Air bags would address the spring differences and I'm fine on axle ratings. Tire ratings change a little since the 250s have 17" wheels and SRW 350s have 18" wheels. Who knows, maybe I'd get a set of 19.5s in a few years if I feel like it.

250s are 2600# payload and SRW 350s are 4000#. Where they get these numbers I'm not really sure. I'm sure it will be safe, just was pondering the legal aspect if I end up over 10k GVW. Probably the bigger concern for an officer or an insurance company is whether it was massively overloaded and that things were tied down and secured well.

My f350 dually has 17s on it. I wouldn't worry about it too much. I just look at the gross of the truck and trailer combined. The mega was 20k, the f450 was 33k, and the f350 is 27k. Stay near tho numbers and you should not kill a bus load of nuns. I don't worry about the 10k either, just the big final number. The dually with truck camper, two place and two rigs was around 25k gross to put things into perspective.

the best thing I can say about them is that they make good axle donors for jeeps. And they didn't take any bailout money.

I bleed Ford blue.

It's an unpopular decision I know :D

I figure, they had problems early on, they were resolved, and the failure points they have are well known and documented now. Otherwise, it's the same injection system as a 7.3, they're coming down in price, the interiors are a little nicer and they have coil springs in the front, which I'd really like.

With the 6.4s I'm concerned about how well they've been maintained due to the possibility of DPF washing out the bearings, though if I found a deal like macgyvr did I'd be happy to have one. Can't find a common rail Cummins with a manual for any decent kind of money. I could deal with a Duramax, and the LLY/LBZ motors seem pretty reliable, but it also seems like when things fail on them they are always a pain to get access to, which means repairs are expensive. Not planning on doing a lot of my own work on the next truck.

I did miss out on a dually Duramax here in town with 40k on the clock for a decent price... with those kind of miles I'd gladly give up having a Ford or a SRW truck!

Work on the house, get pissed off, go work on vehicles, get pissed off, then I'm ready to work on the house again.

It's a great system that either keeps me productive or leaves me pissed off at everything.

You need a bud light.....

You mean another bud light... and I still managed to get a lot done. I did discover that due to an embarrassing mistake on my part, I laid in the snow changing my starter last night when in fact my starter was fine. Whoops...

Or a REAL beer!

Top shot is on again! Woot

Quantity over quality, most of the time at least :)

That show is great, I watched season 1 and probably half of season 2, I need to get caught up on it.

What was it then?

If I had a nickel for every time I did that...

Top Gear US started a new season tonight. Of course they did the semi driving stunt like the UK version did. I don't expect it to be as good as the UK, but better be at least half as good.

Top Gear USA blows chowder, that is all.

But since I don't have BBC I have the seasons on DVD, and settle for TG US
