Yessir! I've grown up around guns so its just normal for me to have a gun nearby and know how to use it. I can see some folks needing training though. I could use some more training myself. I know how to use the gun but I need to learn some more defensive and tactical applications.

I have moved away from target shooting for groups to doing it quickly and accurately from a low ready position. I wish I could practice drawing from a holster at the range, but it just wouldn't be safe for the guy standing next to me. No one likes getting swept with a muzzle.

Installing at WF is the last option, would like to install it before hand. I do have another question. It came with the mopar wiring harness, but the wires had been clipped. Can you get a connector to make it work cheaper then a harness or should I just go full new harness?

it's not a WF until someone finishes working on their jeep in the campground. That guy is usually me.
If you don't get it installed, look for the ugly white box truck, we can back you onto my ramps and you can work on it from underneath without having to lay in the mud.

I am going home to dig a flat spot in my back yard to put a nice big trailer...

This will make my wife happy.

This will make me happy.

I will take pics.

mac 'here's to it going well!' gyvr

Two words Austin.....concealed carry..... as soon as its available to you guys!

Gotta be careful when confronting would-be thieves. Is it really worth it? Cases can be made either way, but I think if you're gonna pull on someone like that, you better be prepared to take the first shot.

A local pizza delivery driver (unarmed) was recently shot and killed because he tried to stop a random car break-in in the parking lot outside the pizza joint. You just never know what state of mind the thief might be in or what they are on.

I will be installing a JCR NP242 skid plate on my rig at the campground... It might not get on Thursday (might not get there till late) but it will get done Friday for sure! Also possibly a RC dropped pitman arm as well, thanks Josh...

got word today that two of my friends from highschool were killed last night in a car accident...neither had on thior seatbelts and the third passenger did have his on and walked away with only minor injuries.....it saddens me and pisses me off at the same time that something so simple as wearing a seatbelt is so often not done. I heard that alcohol was "possibly" related to the accident as well....this pisses me off even more b/c these were grown men, not some stupid kids, they knew better on both accounts. Sorry for teh mini rant, just needed to get it off my chest.

Bummer.

Sorry to hear that. There are some folks that no matter what, won't wear helmets, seat belts, etc, and there is nothing you could have done about it.

You won't like him when he's angry! :D

WI passed CCW legislation.

Act 95 I think.

Act 35. My application has been sent out. Had to take a training class for 4 hours. It actually was pretty fun and enlightening. Heard the wait time is about 18 days. sent mine out on the 31st of Jan. Looking for the 17th to come asap. :D

Wow, in Indiana, you just fill out an application and send in money (125 for lifetime) and get finger printed. I will be doing mine sometime this year.

Just go to auto zone and buy the $15 plug-n-play harness
x2. I know for my 96- the Hoppy one worked great, don't know if they have a plug-n-play for 97+ XJs?

that really sucks man. I can't understand people who don't wear seatbelts, I was taught to early on and it's such a habit now that I'll find myself putting my seatbelt on to move the jeep from one side of the yard to the other or drive through a parking lot (same thing, I guess.) Only thing that really annoys me is the rollover ratchets or whatever that make the shoulder belt not release if I'm wheeling and on a steep incline. If I have to take it off then, it doesn't go back on till I get to flatter ground because, well, it won't.

Also, I forgot how good the Mile High Club sub is at Quickies in Vincennes.

Question, I got JCR nut strips, do I have to take the rear bumper off to install these? At this point, Would anyone be able to help me. Between the weight of the hitch I don't think this is a one person job.

Yes, you need to take the bumper off(I learned the hard way). I installed a hitch by myself....twice. Floor jack and some patience is all you need.

Sorry. I should have worded that better. The ONLY time mine will come out is in a kill or be killed situation. Waving a gun around is not a good idea. A buddy of mine thought he was tough stuff with a .357 until it got taken from him and he got pistol whipped with it. You are right about confronting a thief. They could easily be strung out on something. I should have said "The world is getting crazy, think about a carry permit."

I apologize for not being more clear!

Sorry to hear it, Tyler.

The one Rewster linked is the 97+ Hoppy converter. Curt, Reese, Hoppy, and probably others all have plug-n-play converters for the late models. They're about $30-35 online, and stupid-easy to install.

I finally took the plunge and got a new daily driver this week. Not an XJ but it is fun.

Defiantly makes me want a V8 in my jeep. Hp is addictive.

Anyone recommend a decent looking reasonably priced car cover that will fit a chopped hybrid caged XJ. I want to move the jeep out of the garage but don't want to deal with HOA bs (even though my jeep is licensed and insured) or let the XJ sit uncovered in the rain all year.
