Got air bags and real gooseneck hitch tonight...a B&W

In 1988, when the 4.0l I6 started availability in the XJ, the firewall was moved back substantially. Swapping in a 4.0l in place of the 2.5l since 1988 hasn't been a firewall problem.

I'd be surprised if the 4.2l swap has never happened into an XJ. I know that parts of it are common, use a 4.2 crank in the bottom of a 4.0l for a stroker motor.

Actually the 4.0 started in 87.

mac, good to see ya stepped up to the ONLY hitch that is worth a damn. We have been pulling with B&W for a LONG time and never had a single problem. I assume you went with the flip over unit? I am needing a set of bags for the two-fiddy, but dont have any $ for that right now since my intercooler shot shitz on the JD.

If he can't afford $300 in air bags...

That system is the shiznitz. I know someone that put one on thier dually and said the difference on the highway was amazing.

Tyler it's the turnover ball setup.

Gonna start my first brew friday night. Read the first couple chapters in how to brew. Seems a little intimidating. But what's the worst that can happen? Lol

Got my first batch fermenting right now, brewed it up on new years eve

It wont be done til a month from friday. You can come over then! Its labatts til then.

i dont know if the MR beer is different but every thing i have read about it says you should let it ferment for 2 weeks, bottle it for 2 weeks and let it condition for 2 weeks. funny thing is there directions say you will have beer in 2 weeks. 1 week to ferment and one in the bottle.

i hope when i upgrade i wont have to relearn a whole new process

Time-to-drink varies considerably on the recipe. A simple light ale can be ready in as little as 2 to 3 weeks, a big Russian Imperial stout can be 18 months or longer.

bottle it for 2 weeks and let it condition for 2 weeks
Huh? Once it's bottled, let it sit. You'll need to let it naturally carbonate, probably 10-14 days. Anything beyond that is up to you. You might need a little longer conditioning time, and that might be better spent in secondary fermentation, rather than in the bottle.

If I ever put in a gooseneck or 5th wheel hitch, B&W is pretty much my only choice.

If you really want a Cadillac ride, look at Kelderman Air Ride systems.

yeah, that is a bit out of my range for the time being. I have dropped over $5000 this week on an intercooler and a new set of front tires on the tractor....next week is not looking much better b/c I have a $15K farm payment due...Happy New year to me! And then comes my payments for March....tis the season :banghead:

daaaamn....in serious pain the last 2 days. i fractured my neck playing college football and sandwiched the ligaments and nerves in between about 13 years ago. every once in a while if i tweak my neck wrong it re-aggrivates the nerves. feels like someone is jamming an ice pick into my spine while smashing my shoulder muscle with a sledge hammer. pain is so sharp it involuntarily brings tears to my eyes...so heres to going to my shop to load sheet metal and 2 hours of excruciating pain! yay

Next is a set of tires for the truck...

I'm thinking about these BFG KM AT tires because I like the size. The 255/80-17 is about 1.5 inches taller than my current tires and will work on a dually without the need for spacers...I'm just not sure that I want a Mud Tire on my tow rig.

Since it is not a farm truck mac, I would probably say steer away from the mud tires on a nice trcuk such as yours. I have mud tires on about eveything (except the Malibu :D) out of necessity, and honestly get tired of the tire whine on the road. A good set of A/T's will be a lot quieter and will last a lot longer. I know I am not telling you anything that you dont already know, but take it from me, those long road trip get mesmorizing with those tires humming! i have even thought about a second set of tires and rims fro summer or road trips type driving sonce mud tires are not always needed. :dunno:

Cheese "too broke to pay attention right now" Man

well i want to go to a bit bigger tire size, for a couple of reasons, one being that i want to bring the overall gear ratio down a little big. those BFGs are the perfect size...no one makes that sweet dually sized tire in an AT...that's the delima...
