Important

Things are slow at work and slow in the MWC. C'mon guys! What do you expect me to do? Get off my lazy-ass and look for something to do? I don't think so. Especially not on my last day.

Shut up Josh! I would have posted earlier but up until now my arms have been covered in grease because this dude can't clean a machine! Oh and apparently he can't TORQUE THE BOLTS THAT HOLD THE WHEEL!

Aaron, you always "would have posted earlier". I'm just sayin...12 hours between posts in our most popular thread sucks. And I'm bored...
Edit: And things are slow in the NAC too. :thumbdn:

Holy cow...

If you lay carpet for a living.. I have a new found respect for you. Spent the day laying it in a 12 x 11 bedroom.. I feel like I just went 12 rounds with a pack of ninjas...

The HF welder is perfectly fine as long as you realize what it is and stop comparing it other much more expensive machines. Its not a Hobart.. and shouldn't be compared to one.

Well for 99 bucks with wire it can't be horrible for a start up welder. I just need it to stick two pieces of metal together. doesnt have to be pretty

I have that same welder. Works fine. I had to "add" a bit of spring tension to the feed wheel by bending the tab it rides on, but other than that, it's been fine.

Works on Exhaust on up to 1/4" No sheet metal though.

Yes, it can be horrible, what you mean is for $99 even if it's horrible, you're not poor because of it. :D Really though, if it joins two pieces of metal then it's worth at least $100. But if you really want to learn how to weld WELL, I'd recommend taking a class because they generally have nice equipment.

I had a cheap Clarke 110v welder, and I was always guessing if my welds sucked because the welder sucked, or because I sucked. Even though I still don't know how to weld, my next one will be a nice Hobart or Miller 220v one, just so I can rule out bad equipment.

Still undecided on the name but I am thinking Rubi.

Leaving shortly to go and see Jeff Dunham. Can't wait to see Walter. Love that old man!!! LOL Then tomorrow we are off to move Josh up here to Green Bay. Badgers play in the Rose Bowl Saturday and the damn Packers had better win Sunday! Gonna be a long weekend!!

Dunham puts on a good show. Saw him a couple of years ago in Rochester, and got tickets to see his new show in February.
