Important

Started snowing at 11pm last night, hasn't stopped. Supposed to continue overnight. It's about time winter started.

Roads are a complete mess. Madison didn't bother plowing the side streets ater the last one because it was under 4". This afternoon it rained, and now we're getting HEAVY wet snow on top of that.

On the positive side, 4 wheel power slides are fun!!

^ Yes they are!

I will cheerfully take the foot of dry snow over 4" of sludge, any day. It's gonna be cold tonight, supposed to be down below 0 F.

That's no joke Jeff! I hate that slushy crap.

In other news, Brad bought another XJ so we can't laugh at him..........oh wait yeah we can its Brad!

As referenced, my buddy Marcus and I drove to Ohio to visit Nate and pick me up a cheap 4x4 SUV for the winter. I am happy to be an XJ owner once again. This thing is straight pimpin' with a sunroof and mechanical-tilt seats. Picture from somewhere in OH:

One time, I bought a Trans Am. Sold it, bought a GTO. Sold it, bought another Trans Am. Then I bought a ZJ. Then I bought a XJ. Sold the ZJ. Got rid of the XJ. Bought another ZJ. Bought another XJ. I have a hard time making up my mind.

As for mileage... I got ~14mpg on the trip there (70-75mph) pulling the empty trailer (1600#), and ~15mpg on the trip back with it loaded (mostly 65mph). Best I've done unloaded is 18mpg, and I was happy. Maybe I should be expecting more. Worst part of the trip was the steering wander in the truck. Not really a white-knuckle experience, but I was a little panicked I was going to tag a concrete divider today. So it's either going back to the dealer to have them deal with ball joints again (that they installed), or I'm putting a new steering box in it.

we got about 4" over night, expecting another 6 here today. fun fun. I'm heading up the Cadilliac area today where the snow belt is. should be fun. getting the jeep out to go to work.

peace
dan

roads are icing up down here....ask me how i know. (well maybe ask me in the morning)

You mean you're actually gonna drive the XJ so your super mega torque in the dodge doesn't put you into a wall? :D

I feel like I got ran over by a Big Mac truck......skiing has been fun but man am I sore and tired this morning. Camille has had a blast and that is all that matters. Gonna ski today and head towards home either tonight or tomorrow morning....

Cheese "ready to get home and work on Jeeps" Man

We had rain all afternoon and evening, then around 9 it turned to snow and the roads turned to ice.

So of course that was the first time I went to a bar since Travis's wedding, for a birthday party for the son-in-law. Hope the rest of them made it home safe.

Something over 16" of total snowfall here, and still only 5 degrees. Redwing, 25 miles away, tallied 20". Just under 2 hours to blow out the driveway this morning. There was a 3 and a 1/2 foot berm at the bottom of the driveway, nothing I own would have gotten over it.
