Illinios roll call

St. Louis Metro Illinoisian checking in, gotta understand that the Great State of Chicago is why the state is messed up. Heck the Governor doesn't even live in the Governor's Mansion in Springfield, instead he lives in Chicago. I cannot wait till he's out of office, he's screwed a lot of things up. He has fixed some things, but not enough to keep him in office. I have lived here in IL for 95% of my life and it is great. No personal property tax, no major emissions hassles, etc. I don't like the gun control and smoking issues, although I am not a smoker, I think some of their rights are being taken away, and my wife of course is glad, cause she hates smoking altogether. I do like the state overall though, I have lived in the State of Misery(Missouri), and have traveled and stayed in several other states, but IL is where I call home.

no personal property tax... But we have a higher than average sales tax(even outside the 6 county insane asylum) And the Metro East area is getting emissions testing rolled in, along with Winnebago county......

Now way, where did you hear that?
What will Machesney Parkinsaw citizens drive now?

They'll just have to get all those Camaro's off the blocks......

Your good friend Blago is pushing an expansion of the testing program. The population numbers that were first published would have put Winnebago, Kankakee, and at least one of the counties in Metro East in the testing program. IIRC, the first lady, first posted a link to the Tribune article on it.

All I know is my 90 is now exempt.

It is too old.

:D

Rev
same w/my 86....damn exemptions came about after I bought a new catalytic convertor! the damn woman overheated him on the dyno too. I was fit to be tied. she just comes up and says it like she didnt do anything wrong. I could have strangled her. crap like that makes you want to wrap your belt around their neck and pull start their heads!:laugh2:

Uh, how's that again? I went through dyno testing (lived in DuPage county for 12 years,) with 2 different XJs (one stock, one not,) and even with the long program, I don't see how the tech could overheat a vehicle.

That is, assuming your cooling system is functional. If it isn't, all bets are off.

I've lived in Florida, New Jersey and Utah
and, surprisingly...I'm happiest here in Illinois.
I guess it is better the closer you are to Chicago.
The food is by far better here than anywhere else.
okay, Nawlins is a close second.

BOB

I've lived for a little while in Colorado, Wisconsin, 7 of the last 10 years in Northern Cali (Sacramento & Santa Rosa). If it wasn't for my family being back in IL & WI I'd still be out in Cali or somewhere else close to some nice Rock Crawling.

The food if nothing else is definately the best in Chicago and the burbs. I'm originally from Mt. Prospect, IL and now live in a sleepy little town just South of the IL/WI border called Roscoe. I wish I lived closer to Chicago in the NW burbs, but the prices sure have gone up in the past few years.

Looking forward to seeing you people in Attica in a little bit. :wave1: :farmer:
