Idle chit chat formerly knows as eh

Re: HEY REMI!

This was done upon request of SoCal chapter members to keep track of usefull threads. Folks pm links from time to time and they get added on. So far you'd be the first one to say to remove it.... I have been thinking though that with the National FAQ project being "revived" I might send those their way and they can keep track of it in an FAQ forum or wherever the FAQ stuff goes. i am just saying, you are the one who insists on tech goes in tech!!!

Well... dunno about you but quite a few folks found it useful. Nothing new has been added cause folks haven't added anything new. AFAIK all businesses listed there are still in operation and are frequented by chapter members. you haven't looked at your own thread in months then

Chapter BOD and border info should be in the members area? :dunno: EVERY chapter forum has that info so that folks know what are chapter boundaries are and who are the chapter officers.OK, like i said, i could be wrong
you still have lost the majority of the peoples respect due to the flip flopping standards and favoritism and not dealing with the issues of individuals even though they bring up valid concerns. the few people that defend you ( remember i like you as a person and enjoy hanging with you, i just don't like how you run this chapter by your own rules ) will say take this back channel but when it gets taken back channel NOTHING GATS SETTLED!!!!! AND NO ONE EVER FINDS OUT THE TRUTH OF ANY SITUATION!!! you never let any one know the final decisions such as the services thread, a great idea that you did not think of, Grim did, so it went no where, typical leadership here once again.

Dude, this is getting nowhere... are you still sore because noone can advertise their services anymore? Seems that's when you started beind unhappy with the way things are. We had very loose rules regarding many things but folks abused them. When couple years ago we decided on a trial basis to allow folks to advertise what they do, suddendly all we had were folks "adveritising their services". At that point it was decided (I was not the only person making that decision) that things are getting out of hand and this will not work out. There is still nothing wrong with folks recommending someone else. Not too long ago we had folks request other ways to advertise their services. I was very much for it but couple things came up:
1. Couple vocal folks were too much about "I need this setup now cause I need to make the $ now" and at that point the "Movement behind it" lost it's "it's for the chapter" flavour and gained "it's all about me flavour". This put a different spin on things and it had to be examined in whose interest it would be setup. NAXJA is not a "free advertising service" for folks. There's CraigsList for that (as it was pointed out to me by numerous folks).
2. I have also spoken to couple sponsor and business owners who said "this is a bad idea". Licensing, liabilty, sponsorship program and many other things were brought forward as reasons to not proceed forward with it.
Result was that the decision with the services thread was to let it die off. Folks who were involved in trying to make it work were notifed. Oh yeah... btw, you say that because that Grimm thought of it and not me the idea went nowhere? I'll reply this: get over yourself and your baseless accusations. I was the idea's biggest supporter and I was doing my best to push this through but for the above mentioned reasons (and couple others I don't recall anymore) I was convinced that it was bad idea. I was pushing this both on chapter and national BOD level.

Troy, there is actually quite a bit of work that goes into coming up with what's here. You dont like it? I can dig that. With the mixed group that we have there is no way to satisfy everyone's demands and keep everyone happy.

I will admit: I don't always make the best decision, but I try my damndest to be fair and impartial. Sometimes I screw up. Hey I am human, but I try to make things work.... My rule of thumb is that it's always about the chapter and not the individual.... Don't know how to phrase it better cause my brain is fried from a long day in the office but I hope that y'all get the idea of what I'm trying to say...
