I need access to a drill in Bowling Green KY / Nashville TN

I bought my 2001 XJ from a friend of mine a few months ago, and today when I went to get a skid plate installed on my transfer case, they realized that it won't fit because the transfer case got dropped between 3/4" and 1" when the lift was installed, to eliminate vibrations or whatever.

Well, I'm here until November working on a political campaign, and I don't even have a bed or any furniture in my apartment, let alone any tools. So I need to fabricate some kind of spacer to accommodate the transfer case drop, and I don't have any way to drill holes in the steel (once I even find out where the hell to get some scrap steel around here).

The dealership that I took it to said that they'd install the skid plate once I fabricated a spacer but that they're not going to do any fabricating.

Does anyone in the Bowling Green KY / Nashville TN area have access to a drill?

There are a few places in BG that sell steel. They might even have what you need a Tractor Supply on Scottsville Rd. If not there is a metal place on Russellville Rd that will.

I am just across the state line in Tennessee, the first exit off I-65 after you cross the state line. I have quite a few tools, including a drill and bits. Get your steel and give me a shout and we'll get you squared away.Bring your skid plate and we'll see if we can put that on too. No need to pay someone if we can get it done.

I just got back from Iraq the other day, or I would have offered help sooner. Don't take your ride to a stealership, especially in BG. They might be helpful, but find a good Jeep buddy and you're set for life.

Thanks everybody. I'm only here until December.

The dealership charged me $500 to do an oil change, tell me they couldn't put my transfer case skidplate on, and to put my gas tank skid on but not be able to re-install the trailer hitch.
