I hate these people(PETA)

Badly-written, poorly explained propagandist tripe. The point isn't about not killing animals, its about doing anything with animals ethically. For example, euthanizing as opposed to stomping...
how is it propaganda when its form the local and national news? peta has a no kill policy and they have been caught disposing of animals they killed? guess you would rather just take pam andersons word on it instead of the first hand whitnesses of the crap they actualy pull.

even lions go for the throat during the kill. if any of you are hunters, do you shoot the prey in the leg and let it suffer on the forest floor? if you were gonna kill yourself, would you do it with a spear through the stomach? it's just a matter of respect in my opinion. usually those that have no respect for the lives of animals also have no respect for the lives of people. they're called sociopaths.

I don't think it is a matter of respect, the reason lions and hunters shoot for quick kill zones is so they won't have to chase the meal as far or long. Lions don't "respect" their kill and show it mercy by killing it quickly, they just know what works best.

Pain is what we are afraid of, and it's not all that bad really, If it becomes too much your body shuts it off. People live through very painful injuries and ailments that 100 years ago would have killed them. Is it cruel that thanks to modern medicine we can save them and they suffer longer?

Sure it seems morally wrong to some people to kill something in an "unconventional" manner, but the fact is that you're still killing when you do it "humanely". The mental gymnastics it takes to say "you have to be nice and friendly to whatever you kill" are mind boggling and frankly hilarious.

Whoa, whoa, whoa! I gotta call you on that one. A lion doesn't give a crap what its prey 'feels'. It doesn't 'go for the throat' to put its prey quickly out of its misery. It goes for the throat in order to slowly sufficate the prey to death. It can take several minutes. Is the lion bad? No. A lion cannot be bad. It is a lion. It cannot be good or bad. People can be good or bad, but only as measured against cultural standards. PETA would like one standard of measure. Others find PETA's standards restrictive. If you're saying that people should behave like lions then KFC should slowly strangle their chickens to death. It doesn't really matter to me, as long as KFC doesn't make me sick. So far, so good. Food Lion now: I got a bone to pick with them. But, that's for a different thread.

Carry on.

Then there's the African wild dog. One get the nose, another the tail. Get somebody else on a leg until the prey falls over, then everybody rip its guts out while it's still breathing and its heart is still pumping. Maybe PETA should eradicate wild dogs.

Theres no need for the workers to abuse the animals the way they do,probably bullied in school...lol.
As for the overcrowding, my main concern would be of a health nature. It can't be very sanitary being that crowded, wonder what diseases are lurking.
Guess i'm changing to extra crispy.... they cook it a lil longer.

I saw a McDonalds Semi some years ago with a flatbed full of chickens. they were in milk crates stacked 10 high, the ones on the bottom were thoroughly covered in poo, and a few of the cartons were crushe. It would have been cruel if they cared, but the fact is that the bottom ones were enjoying the abundance of food.

People who abuse animals are generally only a short step away from being people who abuse people. Abusers need a close look, individually. Separate that from the corporate practice of processing for mass consumption. Generally, that is a topic on the level of national health, not an issue of individual perversions.

I took a short-cut behind the dorm cafateria one day. They were unloading a truck into the kitchen. The boxes were labeled "Class D. Fit for human consumption." Talk about abuse.

We had a metro come in the other day and it had 50,000 chickens on board. they were in boxes with holes, almost like egg crates. they all seemed happy enough:D but damn 50,000 chicks are LOUD

A Darwin award would be if he tried to rescue the chickens and got sucked into a "mechanical separator" and died. Somehow I just don't see that happening...
I'd have to agree though, that there's better methods of killing, and stomping wouldn't be one of them. My mom's family raised chickens while growing up and they'd use an icepick to the eye. Sounds mean but it worked fast and easy. Plus it made it easier to pluck the chickens afterwards. Or sometimes they'd lay it on a chopping block and chop off its head. Sure it'd run around, but it was dead.

I happen to love PETA......

They provide me with great laughs all the time. Their corporate head quarters are in Norfolk right next to one of our local parks. Every year there is a BBQ fest and every year there is a protest. They come down dressed in costumes handing out flyers and preaching their no meat propaganda. It's funny to see the stuff annoyed people do to them.

Also one of the local radio stations holds a fishing tournament right outside their offices on the water front. We normally head out with grills blazing cooking all the meat we can while we fish. It's really a HOOT!!!!!
