I can't find it!!!

you must have done the same thing i did with my door hinges. lift off like the wranglers do.

easy cheesy lemon squeezy.

you need to find a thousandths drill bit to shave out the hole a little to get the roll pin to enter and exit easier but not so much that its sloppy. i would also take some emery to your roll pins if they are rusty. and some greeez.

and if you get really ambitious cut about 3/4 of an inch off of the top or bottom so you dont have to line them both up at the same time. i've been planning on doing this for about 3 or 4 years now and one of these days i'll get around to it.

yep same thing. I didnt even have to drill out the holes. i just cut the roll pin so that Where it went into the bottom lobe on the door, is gone. Works soooo much better.

FYI guys, be easy on the doors after you do this mod.

I'm guessing from my nosedive incident came the bulk of the stress, but the other day I was removing mine to test fit tube doors, and the top lobe on one of the hinges broke completely off.

Always attach your door stoppers

Totally forgot bout the "nosedive" incident. Thanks for reminding me! haha.

My drivers side door doesnt have a stopper.... hmmm. guess I'll have to rid up some nylon straps similar to wranglers...

I'm suprised the words "Taco" and "fold like" have not come up in this thread yet :viking:

Well Taking your doors off cause death wobble....

But for real... I averaged 2 mpg less when I had my doors off... catches a lot of wind

I ran almost all last summer with my doors off with no problems. I do put a mirror on my drivers side though. I got a cheap truck aux. mirror with a straight arm on it. I bent the arm at the base so it points toward the sky. I then welded a 1/4-20 bolt through the hole at the bent end. I drop it through the hole for the hinge pin and put a wing nut on to hold it in place.

I will bring this up because it has not been mentioned yet. Nothing about folding, taco's, or DW. However, Doors do provide a significant level of safety in an accident.

The mirror laws in WA are at least two rear view mirrors (normally this means 1 center and a drivers side. I am not certain if they are all interchangeable, but I know that two are required.

I TOOK........sorry.....i took my stoppers off and on one of my rear doors i cut the little stopper on the hinge so it opens reALLy far!. i'm just really careful when i open them.

and if i notice some sag or light coming through the seal i just put something (hammer handle) in the bottom of the door and push on the top to rea align. then i'm good to go.

i may eventually do some sort of strap but there's a lot of other things that come first. like a stroker!!!!! (yeah my jeep runs now.....but its knocking......guess i'll tear it apart for another 2 years)

I figure it's no worse than riding a motorcycle.

Especially w/o a cage in a roll over you wouldnt be so happy.

I also used the motorcycle justification. And I see the UPS guys driving around with their doors open all the time. It was really nice in the summer too. But it's still illegal in WA. I can't remember the WAC codes, but it plainly states vehicles that were manufactured with permanent doors should not have them removed.

Interesting comment. I have riden motorcycles for years and I wouldn't drive a door less vehicle without door bars regularly. I don't have a good reason why, but that is the way I feel?

There are specific advantages and safety justifications for each but I have never thought of it like that?

On a motorcycle you are straddling so your legs help provide lateral stability. You don't get that in the jeep.
