Hi all,

Posting here because this has nothing to do with my XJ although I figured someone here might be able to comment as they do make them for XJs. I'm getting a new company car soon and while I was able to select rubber floor mats when I ordered it the fleet people didn't give me the option of getting the factory cargo liner. In my last car I had WeatherTech floor liners and they work well but they're nowhere near non-skid enough to consider for the trunk. Are the Husky ones a softish, non-skid rubber, or are they more of a hard plastic like the WeatherTech liners?

At this point I'm not sure if I should buy a cargo liner from stealership ($$$$) get the Husky one, or get a truck bed mat from Tractor Supply and trim to fit. I do carry a milk crate with fire ext., blanket, first aid kit, extra oil, funnel, shop rags, etc. with me and in my last car I had to bungee it in a corner to keep it from sliding around which was really inconvenient. Any opinions would be welcome. Car is a Ford Fusion, FWIW.

I had the regular rubber husky floor mats and they were more of a sticky rubber but now I have the molded floor liners and they are more of a plastic than rubber. I have the whole Jeep outfitted with the floor liners even the cargo area. Stuff definitely slides around alot more in the back with the cargo liner than just the carpet. But it isn't like stuff just slides around all over the place. I have a sub box in the back that never moved before the cargo liner and now with the cargo liner I have to adjust it back to its original position every now and then but it only moves by an inch or so. I would recommend them to anyone considering them.

I've got an old one in my XJ that I had originally bought for the '88 my Dad used to have back in '95, which was then transfered to the '90 he bought after totalling the first one in '97, and was passed down to mine when that was scrapped a couple years back. It is a thick but kinda soft plastic, but stuff still slides around on it. I've got something similar on order from Mopar Accessories for the trunk of my Chrysler 200, but have yet to see it, so I can't say how that has been made as of yet.
