Hurricane!

So how do you guy get any where up here in new England and NY. I can't get my tractortrailer around with out hitting a ton of traffic. I am ready to start shooting people. It is taking a hour and a half just to get fuel I guess alot of truck stops didn't have power till today. Hope the jersey turnpike is running nice tomorrow night. We had two truck leave for VT Sunday and should have been home Monday night Tuesday morning. They still haven't made it home. When you can finally eat your pepperidge farms stuff and white castle burgers just remember the b.s. We went thur to get it up there.

how do you get t-boned in like 3 feet of water?

please, please record the conversation with the insurance company about that one.

"what was the license plate of the other vehicle sir?"
"It didn't have one, it was the Speedy Fisher"
"what"
"I got hit by a boat"

That is the funniest not funny thing I've heard in awh....maybe ever.

Yup, that's where my XJ got hit by a boat. lol That's what you get for having an awesome XJ capable of driving in three FEET of water!! (I estimated the depth based on the fact that your 37s are ALMOST under water! ROFL

Make sure you get that XJ cleaned and the fluids changed so she is ready to go the next time! :)

This is the next neighborhood behind our house

good question... 88JeepXJ, did you have the appropriate green and red signaling lamps installed and active on your watercraft? Was it properly registered with the state and clearly marked with hull ID numbers?

Just got power back here, estimates for the rest of the town range from tomorrow out to 2 weeks, and we are in better shape than a few surrounding towns. Had 2 spots in town where tornadoes touched down and did a lot of damage.

The biggest problem is the governor limited every gas station in the state to 3000 gallons, and just about every one that has power is sold out, and as more get power restored, its only a matter of hours untill they sell out. On the way home tonight, I already started to see vehicles out of gas on the side of the road, and at this point, I am afraid to go to sleep, because I just know as soon as I get comfortable in bed, I will probably get a wrecker call.

The hurricane wasn't that bad here. Plenty of rain, some decent flooding, and a fair amount of downed trees .... but all in all it wasn't any worse than a bad thunder storm.

We did have to come back early from our vacation in the Outer Banks though .... for the SECOND year in a row!

Here are some pics I took while driving around in the MJ on Sunday morning.

Methinks you're right.

He cited a historical probability chart drawn up by Robert Hart of Florida State University indicating that tropical storms in Katia's current position had a 19 percent chance of hitting North Carolina, a 16 percent chance of hitting Canada, an 11 percent chance of hitting Florida, and a 47 percent chance of never hitting land.

This is a house on my street. The tree put a 4x12 foot hole in the roof which led to the basement flooding out. The car was parked there to get it away from the trees over the driveway.

The owner's sons came out and cut the tree to patch the roof temporarily. They left the one span piece for last (dumb) so that it was balanced between the roof and shed. I got involved in it and ended up tying a recovery strap around the house end and yanking the log with the XJ. It pulled the end off the house then pulled the other end off the shed. No extra damage to anything, amazingly.
