anyone know if a set of hubs off a 97 xj d30 will work on a 96 xj d30?

how about a set of grand cherokee or TJ hubs will work on my 96 d30?

i've tried google but couldn't find anything consistant.. hoping someone here has made the swap with one of them..

thanks much!!!

The only difference in the D30 hubs that I have found is between pre-1990 and post 1990 hubs, which have different brake rotors.

But they will work back and forth across those years if you switch the rotors too.

Don't know of anything different in the late '90s. Perhaps you should do some part number comparisons at auto parts websites.

Grand Cherokee hubs will not work on a Cherokee; I’m not sure about TJ hubs. If you want to convert over to Grand Cherokee hubs there is a write up on MadXJ under the technical section (I think that’s where I saw it).

I tried a set of '01 TJ hubs on my '99 XJ and they didn't work. :dunno:

Make sure that whatever model you're trying them from has the same rotor type/hat depth - My XJ has two-piece rotors, whereas '01 TJ's have one piece rotors (different hat depths)

Long story short, the rotors rubbed the backing plates with the '01 Hubs.

i guess i'm leaning more toward the xj hub option as opposed to trying to make a TJ hub work. as soon as the parts stores start opening, i'll call around and see if a 97 d30 hub will work on a 96 d30 axle.
