How's the poor economy working out for you?

I was demoted down to a delivery driving position for the time being to not get laid of.. Now I am busy and have overtime but it still sucks. i am definitly thankful for my job though. I also took a part time job at shucks... well soon to be o reillys to get me by and out of debt. SOon I should have my cdl B and hopefully that will benefit me somewhere in this as well.
 
From what I have seen though new construction jobs are starting across the greater portland area and a lot fo electricians are back at work. Hopefully this is a small good sign of whats to come.
 
We've dropped roughly 30% of our employees. All the years of proving my versatility to the higher-ups has apparently paid off - I still have a job. Hell, it feels like I've got several! All the responsibility of the laid off employees had to be delegated to those of us that remain. I'm not complaining - I consider myself a "company guy", will do what I have to to make sure things pencil out.
 
I am a homeless and unemployed vet. Last interview I had lined up with a security company called and cancelled as I was checking my bags in the airport. These fuukers knew I was flying out for it too. At least I have one hell of a bad ass jeep to sleep in. If you see a Green 98 on 33 MTR's and an Airflow tooling around the P.N.W. give me a honk. Life isnt that bad. at least im not in the army anymore.

What's to come? Political/Race/Religion wars and riots after steadily increased unemployment. Acts of terrorism that are everyday in the middle east will become a reality in America. mark my words. We are not as a collective moving towards a utopia. things are only going to get worse.
I love this country and have bled on the stripes to keep them red. We all did this to ourselves. God have mercy on Us.

well, i'm gettin real tired of living off ramen. i used to drive my jeep 500+ miles a week, now i'm lucky if i can afford to put gas in it once a month. my jeep gets pretty good mileage, too! i'm in college, and i often have people ask me if my jeep has something wrong with it and if i would sell it for a couple hundred bucks if they tow it away. i think i might start whoring myself out to fat chicks soon, but i don't think they pay what they used to...
 
Better hurry up. after the auto markets rebound. its going to be all about the "Cash for Chunkers"

that business oppertunity will be no more!

You were talking to the trees! I was simply trying to let them know that there are other colors that they should think about trying to produce. LOL
