This was a good feeling. I have ran Holy Cross a bunch of times and never had to do the winch fest we went through running French Creek in the rain. Old Man, Jawa, Zith, Ranger Rick and I were on this run during Co Fest.

I have had an AWSOME time meeting and hanging out with the great people of NAXJA. I can’t wait to go to my next “Colorado presents: Spring Fling- Moab Bash” and Colorado Fest. I hope next year we can have a run going at least every other weekend here in the Colorado chapter!

My wife even did some driving this year. It's not the same from the passenger seat!
Halfmoon gulch near Leadville

One spur of Halfmoon takes you to the top of the world!

The other spur takes you to Champion Mill. It's an awesome mill that still has some of the equipment in it. Well worth the trip if you get a chance and are in to the history.

Trails list
Hells Revenge
Kane Creek Canyon-in the dark with a hell of a bunch of trusting folks. I am sure at one point or more they though I was nuts. A damn good time!
Poison Spider and part of Gold Bar-mechanical stuff was not treating us well that day.
Metal Masher
Crescent Lake
Trough Trail
Grizzly Lake
Holy CrossX2
Chinamens Gulch
Halfmoon Gulch
Slide Lake
Wurts Ditch-not hard at all but it's a cool trail.
Adams Lake
Heart Lake
Blair Mountain

Alot of the trails we run are not difficult but the scenery and lack of people make it worth the trip. I also try to find places I can wheel into and go fishing.

It was a great time meeting everyone in Moab and Co Fest! I to would like to get some wheelin going on a regular basis. You East Side guys should come over here more! I have some ideas for runs that won't be a huge trip for the East or West side wheelers.

Hey Kevin, got any good snow wheeling trails?

Hey Kevin, got any good snow wheeling trails?

Tons of it come Jan/Feb. We are close to Wyo so we gets lots of wind, makes big drifts. We really only have to find county roads that they don't plow during the Winter. There are a bunch close to town. Some of the first wheelin I ever did in my XJ was bashing drifts on the county roads. Growing up I got to "wheel" to get home sometimes, my folks live out in the sticks.

This year sucked. Only went to Cofest with the wifes heep. My 88 did not hit any trails this year.

We had to really make the effort to get out and wheel/camp/fish. Our schedules are always a mess since I work 3 jobs, and my wife works graves. We told ourselves that no matter what we would get out and live life this year. I am so glad we did! Paying the price now though pushing up to 20 hour days getting caught up. It's worth paying the price, We had a ton of fun and met some great people.

It's not just about wheelin for us. We like the scenery and fishing is always top of our list!
Got the bigest Brookie I ever caught this year. 3.5 pounds, couldn't get my hands around him. Made for a great dinner, fed us all well.

Early season buckskin. Love seeing them in velvet!

Another from Cold Springs Campgorund. The area in the background is near the Devils Causeway, a section of foot trail only 4ft. wide with several hundred feet cliffs on each sdie. I plan on doing a multi day backpack trip in the Flat Tops next Summer. Going to to have to trim my fat ass up!

Had a chance to teach the boys about trail stewardship this Summer. Did some trail maintenance to remove trees that was causing people to make bypasses on the trail. Picked up a bunch of trash on the trails too.

Cut the tree into pieces and rolled it into the new bypass.

Mine coulda been better, but considering all I had going on this year, the BOR rig being a non-running bitch for 3 months and a couple rig swaps as well, I consider myself lucky that I got to put the tires on a couple rocks at all........

Let's see........

-Moab
-Wheeler Lake
-Chinaman's
-Indy/Liberty

........ jeezus, is that all?

Moab in May was awesome! Looking forward to doing another trip May 2011!

turned out to be a good year for me.
