How to seal top/ bottom halves of stock air box for snorkle?

Sealant is the obvious, but what about changing the filter. Or does the rubber around the perimeter of the filter provide a sealed area?

i created a sealed square to stick in the front hole of the airbox, and then siliconed the crack on both sides of it. then ran a bead of silicone around the airbox before i latched it, and siliconed the small drain holes at the bottom of the airbox closed also. unless air/water comes through my snorkle..it isn't getting in there
