How many aerosol paint cans?

I was thinking about giving my 87 Cherokee a new olive green paint job. How many spray cans would it take to give it good coverage?

Start off with 20, you can always return what you don't use.

holy hell 20 ya right. i painted my whole 85 4runner with 5 cans of good spraypaint so it didnt need alot of coating. unless your getting really cheap paint that doesnt cover for shit theres no way you will need 20

I would get 20 too. Like CanMan said, you can always return what you don't use.

Also, depending on the original color, it might take more layers to cover it up.

Thanks for the responses. I may use a spray gun. My jeep is an old woody with the paneling removed and is about 10 different colors of primer.
