How fast is your XJ?


See!!!! Alot less cocky=alot more well received. you still bagged a little on what you are tired of seeing, but alot less offensive. I'll post over there to see what I'm curious about.

I want a detailed spec list of your ubber cool XJ with a V8 that you bought.

Engine specs, whats done to it internally, radiator, bell housing, what had to be done to get it to fit, electronics, how did you get the speedo and tach to work with the different engine, do you have AC/heat, motor mounts.

Unibody stiffeners, if any.

Tranny, which one, anything done to it, how is it held up.

Tcase, what is it, anything done to it, ratios.

Axles, anything done to them, gear ratios, how are they holding up.




Have you ever taken it offroad, done the 1/4 mile? How does it handle them?


I wanna see a race between you, JJacobs, and Goatman to see who wins. Winner gets bragging rights.
 
o and ur gf. ha ha. u guys crack me up with ur stupid comments. Somebody just delete this thread. Started out simple. Then complicated cause of one thing i said then it turns around that my accusation was true. Then we have jealous people, people calling me a douce, this is just great. I luv this. It seems like no matter what anyone does or says or haves. Someone gotta rain on there parade even if they come in with an open mind and respect. It just cracks me up.... Cmon lets quote what i just said guys and translate it and keep pointing the finger.

I think he said NV4500, D44 front, D60 rear. Stock internals on the engine.

You plan on cutting it and bigger tires or just staying with what you have?
 
I don't see a long arm lift on it. Also looks like a 3.5 inch lift. Any pic's of the suspension?

Yeah, no offense but that's no 6.5" of lift. That's good though because 6.5" would be too tall IMO.
 
sticking with 31's maybe 12.5wide next time. Plus parasitic drivetrain loss. I dont plan on adding a bunch of weight and have cavaliers pick on me. Great gas mileage as it is. Dont wanna regear anytime soon. I plan on moving to tennesee, south caralina next year so i need to save.
 
Don't re-gear... head swap!
LS1 heads & intake can be made to work (if you want particulars, I'll get a hold of my old man. He did it on his 72' vette with an L98 in it) on your engine... The geezer estimates 50 HP gained I really don't know.

You sure about LS heads? LT1/4 heads and intake can be fit on the TPI engines with a little work.
 
if um tearing down to the heads i might as well put a cam and edelbrock intake manifold and port tb. But then again i dont know what ur route u guys are talking about cost.

Yup- my mistake
LS = no go
LT top end takes some fab but can be done.
Never owned a chevy, much to my father's dismay... but I'm learning :gee:
 
As much as I liked my mild built TPI in my old 92 camaro.. The intake = fail, with the exception of the SLP intake mani/runners. I really like the LT top end, but the opti-crap ignition kills it for me. LS engines are the way to go. Altho, I prefer the LQ blocks(cast-iron version that is used in the trucks), but LS intake bolts right up.
