A Billion

Can You Imagine A Trillion ???

The next time you hear a politian use the word "Billion" in a casual manner, think about whether you want the government spending YOUR tax money.

A bilion is a difficult number to comprehend, but one advertising agency did a good job of putting that figure into some perspective in one of it's release's.

A

A billion seconds ago it was 1959.

B

A billion minutes ago Jesus was alive

C

A billion hours ago our ancestors were living in the Stone Age

D

A billion days ago no-one walked the earth on two feet

E

A billion dollars ago was only 8 hours, and 20 mintutes, at the rate our government is spending it.

While this thought is still fresh in our brain....let's take a look at New Orleans
It's amazing what you can learn with some simple division

Louisians Senator
Mary Landrieu
(D)
is presently asking Congress for 250 billion dollars to rebuild New Orleans....Interesting number....what does it mean.

A

Well...if you are one of the 484,674 residents of New Orleans (every man, woman, child) you each get $516,528.

B

Or... if you have one of the 188,251 homes in New Orleans, your home gets $1,329,787

C

Or...if you are a family of four...your family gets $2,066,012.

Washington D C

HELL O

Are your calculators broken ???

We had absolutely no national debt...We had the largest middle class in the world...and Mom stayed at home to raise the kids

WHAT HAPPENED ???

HOW ABOUT ANOTHER TEA PARTY !!!

AND I STILL HAVE TO PRESS 1 FOR ENGLISH

Not to mention Death tax and the Inheritance tax. When I die, I leave my family money in my will, the government gets 50% :patriot:

People are too brain-dead for that. Someday stupid will evolve into a lethal disease and we can start over.

Stupid is a fatal disease, left unchecked. Problem is, government thinks they can cure the lethality of it.

Do you know the difference between "ignorant" and "stupid"? Ignorant can be fixed through patient education and examples. Stupid is forever.

Probably one-third of America is stupid, and can't be fixed. One-third is ignorant - either through their own choice, or the machinations of media (you can't expect me to believe it's coincidental.) The third of us who are aware - usually by being ignorant of "popular culture" (I don't understand why it's popular, and it ain't that damned cultured,) end up spending much of our time trying to educate the ignorant and identify the truly stupid.

Is it any wonder we're not getting anywhere?

(Oh - and whenever I'm working on paperwork this time of year, I keep having "Taxman" by The Beatles running through my head...)

We're like a bottle rocket in the grand scheme of things.

Nice input, Eeyore.

Perhaps we should just throw our hands in the air and take whatever bullcrap the government shoves our direction, right?

You seem to be clueless about who's country this is. The government is taking it and our Rights from us one piece at a time and they're hoping we don't notice.

Guess what.....we've noticed.

We urge everyone to contact a Congressman regarding Land Closures, but what about all the stuff they've taken from us that's not visible?

Ready for 41% taxation? Doesn't matter if you are or aren't, because it's here!

Now, if you choose to be just another mindless sheeple in the herd of sheeple who are content to just take what you're given, then by all means, exersize that right.

Perhaps you could read the Constitution, or even the Cliffnotes version? http://www.usconstitution.net/constquick.html , unless you actually prefer Socialism.

Good thing our Founding Fathers didn't share your attitude.....

:kissyou:

Has anyone seen the movie "Idiocracies"? It was on Comedy Central the other night and it was so bad and true at the same time I had to watch it.
http://www.imdb.com/video/screenplay/vi1526530841/

That was the most depressing thing I have ever seen. Here's why:

I have a habit of channel-surfing during commercial breaks. I'll flip to The History Channel, Speed, or something that isn't playing a commercial. Because of this, I don't recognize all the commercials as they come on.

While watching "Idiocracies", I honestly could not tell the difference between scenes from the movie, and the commercials being played during the breaks, when I flipped the channel back . I turned it off after about 30 minutes.

Be sure to apply for a permit before your tea party. Check with you local, state and federal officials for any special ordinances. Also plan a safety meeting, and be sure to see if the job shouldn't be performed by the teamsters. By the way who will provide insurance. You'll want to prepare for your story to never be heard, as the press will never reveal what really happened. Did your wife approve? Are you going to have donuts to go with that tea? J/K, it is all pretty damn ridiculous. It is definitely time for a revolt, time to put the government in check and get back to being small town America. No more Costco, Home Depot or national insurance companies. If the States need roads to be fixed, they had better make some money, and not ask it from Uncle Sam. If a bank goes under then good, they deserved to. Same goes for all businesses. Gas prices go up, quit buying gas, $ will come down. Get back to a free economy and a small time America. Neighbors need to get to know one another and voluntarily clean up the foreclosures in their hood, to preserve the value in 'their' neighborhood. If you cant get a job in your trade, suck up your pride and deliver pizzas with one of your four cars. Love your family and buy a gun before it is illegal. We are the apex predator around here and its time we start sinking money into people and not some fawking salamander. How vein is our government; so vein that they will spend so much money on something they have no business saving; Earth, homeless, economies, 3rd world countries included. If not now then soon, people will stop this nonsense. And remember that those of us that will stand up against these tools, are better shooters than our 'eco-friendly, save everything except family values', foes.

Robin Hood Obama and his Merry Men of Congress have it all worked out, steal from the those that are responsible with their money and give it to those that are not. Great lesson, punish those who succeed and reward those who have no desire to.....isn't Socialism great?

Those that make more than $250,000 are returning to the tax code they had under Clinton. Last time I checked, everyone did really good back then.

Don't forget to fill out the EIS as well - it's an important point!

Of course how silly of me; above all else one must consider how actions will effect the environment before proceeding.

And you think that had anything to do with Clinton and his tax policy?

His tax policy and other economic shortfalls, plus the work of the Dem led Congress the last few years, is what got us in the position we're in now....

Economies are built on past work done that effects the future...not current policy. That is why you won't see any immediate change - well, at least for the good - anytime soon. It will take years for our economy to repair....current policy is only tanking what is already lower than low...
