THey actually went through all the trouble to lift that thing.
Check out this mad flex.

Yeah, I'm being mean, but seriously. Does a ridgline even have a 4LO?

Drove one several months ago; from what I remember it's available as an option, along with a selectable locking centre diff.

FWIW, it wasn't that bad as a vehicle and actually performed surprisingly well in the rough stuff for what it is. The suspension and drivetrain are Pilot/MDX-derived, so overall ability's about the same.

oh, I'm not faulting Honda for designing it. I think even they realize that it's not a serious offroad truck. Why go through the trouble of lifting it though?

Bingo. In all honesty I really don't care for it myself, but for what it is (a pickup for people who couldn't live with actual pickups) it's OK, I guess.

I ask the same thing when I'm going down the freeway staring at the 2WD lifted pickups with the nice shiny 4-reservoir shocks and trussed stock rear axles. About the best answer I've got is that it's bling.

Of course, if you're going to have a money pit it may as well be a practical money pit. I took a look at the company's website that manufactured the lift; it looks as though they mostly sell through chain tire stores (Big O, America's Tire, etc.) here in California. That tells me a lot about their customer base and intended applications.

Late edit: apparently that's a $700 lift kit (source); given the fully-independent suspension on the Ridgeline, it's probably not a lot more than a few spacers and maybe some bushings. *Shakes head*

how did it win Truck of the Year? I'd like to see the criteria and results

I'll use my Comanche for hauling, but my wife likes the Ridgeline. Beats a minivan.....maybe not much else.....:gag:

I think they look "cool" but id never buy one. Must be spacers for the lift, and that flex is infingsane

But at least the guys lifting it, not lowering it.

Wow, look at around at that site, especially the offroad section. They seem to think the Ridgeline is good offroad. then look at where theyre "wheeling"

You could do most of it with a lowered CRX

the only cool thing about the ridgeline is the trunk feature, but then its usless if there is stuff in the bed

I used to drive off onto roads like that in my lowered Integra, seriously.

Sorry excuse for an "off road" vehicle.

I think it's ugly as hell, anyways.

i think that is about as extreme as a ridgeline gets

btw if anyone read 4WOR they pretty much badmouthed it as a pretty sorry offroad performer, good to see a mag tell it like it really is

and these guys say that detroit should listen to them!?!

No wonder we end up with friggin IFS grand cheros and the FUGLY liberty, and that Monstrous Piece of Cherokee looking Iron called the.....I can't remember, forgive me.

there is more off road capability, and more flex in a stock 2wd cherokee than a ridgeline will ever see without at least $10K of extra work/parts.....

I found it entertaining that they were all so impressed with that rig, many saying that it was the best one they had ever seen. :laugh2:

Lol, yeah. I especially like the comment that "If it were silver" it would be that much better!
