AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH

I finallly managed to muster up the courage to pull up the carpet on the driver side floor, and it is BAD. The only parts of the floor left are a few pieces of rusty flakes more or less hanging on to the carpet. The only structure that appears to be left is the rock rails I have! No wonder they don't want to pass it for PA inspection!

If I try to replace the floors, it'll be one HELL of a project, and I won't be able to just patch it up like I was hoping - I'll have to try to find entire replacement floors that I've seen before. Does anyone still have the link to entire replacement floors? My other option is to start looking for a rust-free Jeep since my RMS is leaking like a sieve on this one, transmission is shit, etc etc and just transfer over my tires / lift parts / armor / axles / etc. I'd lose all the work I did cutting, wiring, hammering, etc but I'd start fresh with something that's not too beat up. Or, I could just hack the shit out of it to slap it back together quick, cheap and dirty and just wheel the poop out of it.

What do you guys think? Either way if I do anything to it major, I'll make sure to see at least one more good wheeling trip to try to get the bitch AIRBORNE

I can't see the pictures since photobucket sucks but my comanche floors were gone from under the seat to under the pedals. Then from the beginning of the interior half of the rocker to almost to the shifter. Did the floor with a piece of 16 gauge that cost me less than $10 and don't regret it. I've heard that the replacement pans sold are usually 22gauge, no thanks. I did all my bending with a hammer and it came out awesome for my first welding project.

Damn that must be some super-rust, not only are your floors gone, the pictures have disappeared as well. Good luck on getting back to the future!

That's nothing,

I did very little cutting to get it to that point.

Check out the boogers in the lower left. My first ones

next time i have a free day i'll pull out the seats and actually pull the carpet all the way out to see how bad it realllly is. and the craigslist hunt begins - i'm thinking that if i can find the right xj to replace it, i may just say fawk it and swap over parts. i don't really have the luxury of the time to go and fix the whole thing or a garage big enough to fit the jeep inside

Looks very familiar.

Buy a new one with no rust, patch yours up to pass inspection then beat it like it owes you money till it breaks in half, then swap parts over.

Rebuilding that much of the unibody is not worth it imo, and you can use a cheap xj since you have a motor to put in it.
