I really don't want to spark a political debate, but that's not a fact. Well, unless you're making over $250,000, which maybe you do. This is a great example of McCain's "Obama will raise your taxes" ads working beautifully.

That said, I'm an independent who still hasn't decided who to vote for, so I'm not trying to push Obama. I just get very frustrated with seeing ads that distort the truth.. and seeing them work. :dunno:

Nice! There's a TON to vote for this year. Someone told me the other day that we have the longest ballot since 1920 or something like that. Looking at my blue book, I believe it. I'm still reading through everything! :paperwork

LOL Uh have you heard that Bush's tax cuts will expire in '10 that is what I am talking about. Maybe you should do a little more home work all of ya. Those tax cuts are for everyone. When he passed that into law I got 1250 extra tax credit per kid. So once that goes away. I am screwed. With 2500 bucks extra I have to pay. That credit shrinks with the more money you make. So I am not close to rich. I made 46k gross with my deductions since I am self employed about 18k. I thanks to my kids I didn't have to pay. If that tax cut goes away then yes I would have had to pay. So I guess you are right he isn't raising taxes he is just letting them expire so they go up without him raising them.
 
Ok I got one for ya. Man is walking down the street sees a bum with a Obama sign says vote for Obama I need the money. Guy smiles and walks into a restaurant. The wait comes up with a Obama '08 tie on. Guy orders his food at the end of the meal the guy you see this 10 dollar bill? This was your tip cause you earned it and did a great job. But you see that bum out there? Waiter says ya. Guy says I think he needs it more then you do I am going to give it to him. Waiter pissed storms off.

Moral of the story I wanna make more then 250k someday and when I do I don't wanna be punished for it. Cause if I am going to break my back to get there then I don't want someone who isn't going to work get a reward. Not even close to fair. If someone is making over 250k I am happy for them not jealous. Being born in free country we all have that God given right of freedom to be best we can. I don't need the government trying to level the playing feild. You might be young right now and not know how you could ever make that kinda money. But we are all blessed with great ideas. Some just take time to come to us. Nothing better then when you earn it yourself.

You can look back on your life and be proud of what you did. But then Obama comes in and says that is not fair you are making so much money. I am going to take your money and give it to someone I think needs it more then you.
 
"From each according to his ability; to each according to his need" this is what Obama is promising, but does anyone know who said it first. If you don't understand it, it basically means that the more you can produce the more we will take from you and the more you sit around and do nothing the more we will give you.
 
This is why I regretted hitting that Submit Reply button the second after I did it... I don't want to start up any arguments or cause any ill feelings, especially not with the people I enjoy wheeling with... and in your case Stang, with someone that's offered to help me with my rig. :thumbup: I'm staying outta this one! :peace:
 
There are so many issues that will surface after this election, no matter who gets in. I am not going to vote obama hussein. Not just because of taxes or that mccain is the right choise either. There are a lot of other candidates out there!! The glory of living here is that we get to share our opinion in a vote, whether they win or not.
I am more afraid of losing what we were built on! If we for a minute think that the right thing is to lower our standards to team up with the world, we sacrifice the very things that distinguish us today.
 
You guys do realize that CONGRESS enacts tax law, right?

It really bothers me to hear all the presidential candidates make all these promises that they really have no authority to follow through on. All they can do is hope to push congress in that direction.

No biggie I don't get too worked up about it anymore. Just want people to be in the know. I just like messing with people to see them get worked up. Let me know when you wanna do the trans repair. I live right down the street.

I've been putting off that dang tranny bolt for too long and now the weather is getting cold. If you don't mind working in cooler weather I may hit you up for some help in the next few days... I'll shoot ya a PM.

Politics suck!...............people get in a tissy over the little things concerning their candidate of choice. We had to write up a few employees fighting over this subject while at work. What ever happened to debating and remaining professional?

Speaking of, what ever happened to intelligent debating? Seems like a candidate can not get popular by their views and promises, they only get popularity by starring on a comedy skit on TV? Who cares what they look like or what they wear? What are their views on fixing the economy, establishing security of the US?

I am an independent, I voted, I am done, now lets see who can cause the most damage once they get into office. I wish I could buy an island somewhere............................... :wave1:

Political parties are the worst ...............historically some of our founding fathers claimed political parties would be the downfall of our country. Looks like their predication was true. We need Jo the Mechanic and farmer John as Presidential candidates.................. they are a little more down to Earth.




Speaking of fixing stuff, did you ever get that rear shock mount fixed there Jawa2021?

Do you have a garage we can work in? If you can wait tell this weekend I should have this 94 XJ done and out of the garage. I pulled the motor and putting a new one in should be done by the weekend. We can pull yours in and do it real quick. If you have a space for us to do it then that is fine too. I just have my kids all weekend. My wife has classes for work.
