You've got something going on that needs fixed, fan clutch maybe?
I know man, I'm honestly clue less. It's heavy but the stroker should be able to handle the extra weight. You've got something going on that needs fixed, fan clutch maybe?
Dyno work can tell a lot, when I built my Russ P stroker I took it to the dyno 4 times to maximize its performanceAlso, I'm wondering if throwing it on a Dyno is the ideal way to get things squared away with tuning... Does anyone know a Dyno shop in northern Cali that can work some magic?
Ya I thought was the case initially and replaced the mini cats as my previous engine guzzled up oil... Made a difference but still dealing with the overheating... Thank you though!!Could the catalytic converter be plugging up, causing excess load on the engine at higher speeds?
This is awesome new man - I'm running into the same issue and was looking at a mishi rad. I'm glad you figured it out, time to knock out the basic cooling stuff and just get an OE rad. Cheers!Final update on this.
I'm now running perfect temps.
Did a better job purging air out of the radiator and installed a air bleed screw into my coolant filter housing. Also ended up fixing the efan.
Outside temps today were in the 90's
Street driving I'm around 200
Highway around 210-212
AC on it's a steady 210 or less on hwy
Uphill sustained max 215
Seems the issue was the mishimoto radiator.
Thanks for all that contributed earlier in the thread!
Just give the system a good cleaning before replacing, the ascorbic acid worked phenomenally....This is awesome new man - I'm running into the same issue and was looking at a mishi rad. I'm glad you figured it out, time to knock out the basic cooling stuff and just get an OE rad. Cheers!
Edit: what was your fix with the efan? Mine does not like to kick on![]()

Ya I wish I knew this about the radiators. Would have saved myself a ton of time and money chasing this fiasco. Its been known for several years that the Mishimoto XJ radiator easily clogs. If I had seen this thread sooner, I would have commented. Glad you finally found out.
Did you get the efan fixed?
