HF Compression tester (general tool)

Had one of these at my disposal. I was actually using it on my freinds newly aquired much older motorcycle. We were reading about 60 psi low on both cylinders but seeing as how they are equally low im worried it may very well be the tester being junk. Its in good shape and only used a couple times so itll be the build quality of the gauge vs the PO of the bike having modified the motor.
I guess i'm wondering if anyone has ever dealt with a Harbor freight compresson tester and had readings as far off as ~60 psi.

I have one and it works fine for me, I'd put it on a known good engine and see what it reads.

Thats a good point. I have tested a 4-wheeler with it before and it was pretty darn close to what it was supposed to have..
