I ran a 1/4-20 tap through a finger. THat's what I get for tapping with a drill.
Before all you old timers get uppity about a power tool and a tap:
I was tapping a nylon/fiberglass motor mount for an R/C plane, so no chance of tap breakage. Left lots of neat little lines all the way down my finger, tap was sharp, didn't even feel it.

Did the same thing! The part of the nail with a hole has finally got to the point where I could cut it off. And yeah... damn that hurt! (btw mine was 1/8" bit and it went fast and deep like through butter)
I was once stupid enough to try soldering a gas tank in my basement.
I took all the precautions. Rinsed, and refilled with water. There must have been a gas pocket...
You know the cartoons where the patsy is handed and explosive, it blows up leaving them with a black face and the hair all blown back. Yah, it looked kinda like that, except for the shrapnel and the blood. I found myself across the basement laying on some boxes. The torch was still on, but above the valve, there was nothing. Good thing I had my glasses on. Tank looked like an open clam. I would give anything to have had a camera, and the presence of a third person to take the picture as it must have been one heck of a sight!
Here's the funny part. I got a different tank and installed it. The sender leaked- darn. I then had to crawl under the car, take a drift, pop out the sender, fix the gasket, and refit it.This all with my new found and hightened sense that gas+sparks=very bad. I still shudder when I think about it.
