From what I've read about it (Toyota calls it the FJ Cruiser), it just seems to be a retro Cruiser body mounted on a Tacoma platform = IFS....ugh! Tacomas are nice vehicles and very capable in stock trim (TRD) but, just hope you never have to replace the motor in it. My brothers (highly modified) '98 blew a head gasket at 198,000 miles so instead of fixing it (because of the mileage) he thought he would get a remanufactured long block from Jasper Engines (very good reputation by the way) until he saw the price.....nearly $5000 + core! needless to say he just had the heads redone and new gaskets installed and all seems to be okay so far..........Hans

Well, I am considering looking at that new FJ Cruiser when it comes out but as a Daily Driver, not as my primary OffRoad vehicle...that's what my XJ is for. I'll be doing my mods to my XJ. I had hoped years back that the Liberty would be worthy of purchasing as a DD (I even got my hopes up when they introduced the Diesel), but I just don't see me spending my hard-earned $$$ on a KJ. Not worth it in my mind.

And if I want to go old school, I'll pull out my Original Crusher...my old FJ40; but, I couldn't use that beast as a DD now-a-days...unless I want to spend every weekend at the chiropractor.
