$100 for front and rear tow hooks. They're straightforward to install, and have a lifetime guarantee. I've pulled out several stuck vehicles with them and they're holding up just fine. Plus, the manufacturer is a member.

I have some late model gm tow hooks in the sway bar holes are these strong enough to hold up to a pull? Not a yank but just and ease out. Maybe from a winch?

No, you need the proper brackets to tie them in to the unibody. I don't think you'd find anyone here to pull on them. I know I wouldn't.

As for the rear you can get a hitch, somone there will have a reciever d-ring you can use if you get stuck.

I wouldn't trust a tow hook that advertises itself by saying "makes a great rugged appearance on your Jeep".

Yea I thought about not putting that one on there, I can't even see how they mount to an xj anyway.

Now...THOSE are some scary looking brackets. Stamped steel maybe? The hooks may handle 10K...but the brackets look like they are good for about 5.....pounds that is.

I can't figure it out either. I sent the seller an email asking about it:

How do these tow hooks mount? Do they end up in the stock location (under the bumper)? I'm trying to figure out what the brackets would be bolted to; if you have a picture of an installed bracket that would be really helpful.

Looks like they bolt between the bumper brackets and the "frame".

Still would not trust the brackets.

I stil use the factory hooks, and I saw Pauls XJ take some wicked pulls on the factory hooks at redbird. I'd trust factory ones.
