I really need to do a Rear main seal in my '90 anyone in Philly or around Philly willing to Help?

its definitely more of a one man job. no room under there for two people. its pretty simple to do as well

I'm doing mine Saturday in South Jersey if it comes in the mailtommorrow.
The hard part is getting the nut loose, I use a big pipe wrench and long bar hitting the ground to hold the yoke.
Then a big socket and breaker bar on the nut.
Use a floor jack to turn the breaker bar.

yea i think he's confusing it with a rear pinion seal...

My bad

Mines lifted pretty high, so I can get my oil pan out easy.


For a stock XJ or 3" lift
, won't the front axle have to get dropped a bit?
Body up on jackstands,
undo shock absorbers.
lower front axle
and so on

I'm in Philly, never replaced a rear main, but willing to hand wrenches.
