HELP - I need a windows XP disk

My old desktop that the kids use is FUBAR'd.

I need the XP install disk so i can reload windows on it. I have what i think is the key code that came with the computer, but windows was loaded already. So there is no disk.

Its older than dirt, but i wanna at least take a crack at fixing it before i chuck it out the window :badpc:

anyone local / close to me have a disk I can borrow ?

I windows was already loaded, you might have a complete restore process on the PC itself.
Of course, it would wip the hard drive clean in the process.

Have you tried holding the F8 key down after intial BIOS loads?

Also if your computer is a dell. You can try holding down f11 while restarting. If your computer was configured with a factory restore partition it will take you to a blue screen and give you the option to restore factory settings. It will take your computer back to the way it was when you bought it. A complete wipe of all data.

i tried the recovery thing... if i understand correctly, when it does that it makes seperate copies of stuff and now it cant find where certain files are. so it cannot boot up correctly without them.
