It seems there has been a helicopter crash on the Rubicon Trail near Buck Island Lake. 4 people on board, and at least 2 with major injuries.

Keep em in your thoughts guys. Hoping for the best.

Also, all you Sierrafest Rubiconers take note. Not sure how his will effect anything early next week.

Sounds like all 4 occupants managed to get out of the helicopter on their own. CalStar and CareFlight are currently on the ground working on loading up the 2 major injuries.

wow OMG. that is insane. I told you guys its unsafe to wheel your helicopter on the con.

Supposedly it's confirmed that it was a helicopter being used as a part of the jamboree. I guess they bring some of the workers from place to places along the trail via helicopter to help get things done quicker

Aaaaand the 2 major injuries have been lifted out and are being flown to the hospital.

If you want more information find it on Facebook on the El Dorado County Watch page.

How keen do you think they were to get on another helicopter considering their injuries were from a helicopter?

On a serious note, glad everyone is gonna be ok!

Hahaha yeah I bet they weren't that stoked on that!

Latest:

1 with a leg/foot injury
1 with a hand/arm injury
1 with a head injury
1 un injured and stayed at camp like a badass

Sounds like everyone will be ok, and the trail shall be open for you lucky people heading up this upcoming week.

Oh man I hope they are ok.

Just in case anyone is wondering, I do not plan on altering our plans for Sierra Fest if at all possible. If it is closed at at Spider, we will alter our plans at that point. Either way we will be on the trail...
