Headlights (Didn't want to Threadjack)

Saw the Silverstar thread and didn't want to threadjack, so here is my question. I have IPF Magic bulbs. They are good but don't seem to throw as much light as I thought they would. Is anyone running them and did you set them up as IPF said or did you set them up differently? IPF says to set them up 2" below center of the bulb at 25'. I did this and when the roads are wet, it is pretty hard to see the line. Any suggestions would be great!

When the roads are wet, no headlight really lights up the lines. The reason is simple physics -- reflection.

When the pavement is dry, the surface is slightly gritty or granular, and each of those little granules has some surface facing the on-coming vehicle to reflect light back at the driver. When the road is wet, the little valleys between the granules are filled with water, so the light is all reflected out ahead of the vehicle rather than back at the driver.

I set mine up so the drivers side headlight shines a little closer than spec. and the passengers side, just a little higher. The steeper angle on the drivers side, seems to show up the road a little better, when wet.

Re: Headlights Silverstar VS IPF

The 5200K lights are quite a bit better than the IPF Majic - do you have a headlite harness - if not get one and you will see a sizeable improvement.
