Head recommendations?

Mariah's head blew the other day and there is a baby crack between the valves. (pictured) Just the week or two before her spark plug had actually exploded. I didn't think anything of it but ironic it was the same cylinder.. perhaps? I really don't know.
Obviously a lot of people recommend clearwater. But with 235k on the clock it doesn't seem like the right choice to throw $440 at it plus the cost of new bolts and a gasket set.

Any recommendations or options I may have that is relatively inexpensive?

just grab a head at the local pnp, and just replace it as is?

Call around to jeep junkyards and find a good head with no cracks?

Seems like more work and nearly the same cost... Maybe I can find somebody on CL that's willing to let me pull it for cheap.. idk. Getting a quote on bolts, gasket set, and head from a local shop here. Hopefully it's around $400 cuz I am broke lol

If the head that cracked on you is the 0331 head off a 00-01 XJ then the Clearwater one is the way to go because they have a better head casting. But if your head is off any other year just go get one cheap from PNP and take it in a have it machined, magnafluxed and new valve seals installed if you want and call it a day.

Ive picked up two heads from pnp over the years. 75$ ish out the door. Then just get a master gasket set. Do the valve seals.

What head do you need? 0331 or 7120/0630?
I'd recommend junkyards. Find one. Have it milled if needed. New gasket set. Or, don't mill it and use new gaskets. Rent a valve puller from a store and definitely do the valve seals. Use a gallon of diesel to soak the old valves in and clean them. Maybe even lap the valves on reinstall.

Thought about it.. But she got the 4K when it was stolen.. And we bought it back for $300 so it's a pretty cheap and nice rig

Buy a 7120 if that's available same head, same flow just has a coolant temp hole in the back. Easier to resale or reuse when the time comes.

Lol I will be! I posted this before I called around. Shopping online for one seems a bit hit or miss. Like knowing if I did have some sort of issue its local.. For now.
