Hi all,

A good friend of mine recently picked up an 89 Blazer as a DD (against my attempts to get him to buy a Cherokee). Anyway, he's been having a problem with it being really hard to start after it's been running for about a half hour or so.

For example, when he gets home from work, he stops off at his letterbox to check the mail and when he tries to restart the engine, he has to leave it sit for about 10 minutes before it will fire up again.

FWIW, the engine has done it since he got it, and he's replaced the plugs, leads, air filter and other misc. stuff....

Any ideas ?

Thanks in advance,

Did he figure it out? I had a few of them and I never had that problem. The TBI system was very simple to work on and those old Blazers last FOREVER if you take care of them. Does it just turn over all day long and not start? Sorry I can't be more help.

No, it does finally restart after letting it sit for about 10 minutes. Actually, he just blew the head gasket the other day (140k + miles), so we're waiting for the first available day to pull it all down and check it out. Thanks anyway guys.

Peace,
