It just seems as though a AAA towing card should be as standard an issue as a full size spare.
The AAA in Las Vegas is a different club than the AAA in Southern California.
California State Automobile Association versus
Southern California Automobile Association. In fact, there are 69 indiviual clubs thoughout the country and each one has different rules and benefits. I would love to have AAA Premier but the CSAA doesn't offer it. Maximum free towing distance for me is 100 miles. Period.
And when you join, get the premium RV/Motorcycle package.
The RV upgrade is free to CSAA members. Nevertheless, the RV coverage is pretty much worthless. Medium duty towing companies charge per hour and the time clock starts when they leave their facility and end when they deliver your RV to a repair place within that magic five mile radius of their home base. If you want to be towed anywhere else, you continue to pay for the tow truck's time until he returns to his yard. Campanies capable of towing motorhomes charge $150+ per hour. The AAA only pays $200 for a motorhome tow. So, unless your motorhome breaks down in the city, down the block from Mike Thompson RV, you're like to be shelling out a few hundred dollars to get your RV to where you want it to go. Good Sam is a far better option for RVs as they will tow you to the nearest RV repair facility AND pay your motel bill while your RV is being repaired.
