Great departure angle (pic)

Crap, people...I wasn't looking for a lecture session here! I said a 'couple'...not I was 'completely pie-eyed'. We were on my own place (if that matters) and I hit the tree because of the blind spot I had due to the mud. I knew there were no vehicles or people behind me (because everyone was in front of me at the campsite). Hell, I would have still done it had I only been drinking coffee.

Hey, you were the one to open this up by admitting there was alcohol involved. Otherwise I wouldn't have got involved in this thread. You posted this on an open forum, so therfore you getting the opinions of what everyone feels or has expierenced.

I doubt what I say would change your mind about Drinking and Driving, but your picture would make a great poster for MADD.

Howz about everybody just back up off him on the whole drinking thing and give it a rest. He screwed up, he admitted it, he says he wasn't drunk. There ain't no purpose in rubbing it in his face, he was there, he knows his mistake. At least he had the cojones to admit it and not make up excuses or anything. Or worse, go out on the road or anything like that. Chuck, maybe you shouldn't have gotten involved in this thread, it had already been said, you added nothing new. Besides I think MADD has posters of cars with much worse damage than that...:D

I could give a rip about the booze.
I want to know how you calculated that you were doing 30 mph in reverse.
I get nervous doing 10-15 in reverse, and I am not all there, ask anyone.
30 mph?
WTF?

Estimate only.

Thanks for the defense, Black.

Folks, I'm really not looking for a soapbox issue, here.

No prob, I figure if someone admits their mistake and it didn't result in injuries to anyone else or anything, why keep throwin it back at him

Turned around, didn't see tree. Smacked it about 30mph in Reverse. Had a few cocktails previous to this. Kids-don't drink and drive.

I guess I'm just pretty pissed off at our own Fresno County this July 4th weekend. DD nearly double this year compared to last year.

Even though you have the warning "Kids-don't drink and drive" I still feel this thread is making light of the fact that someone could have gotten really hurt.

All because there was some impairment in judgement or physical control of the vehicle. I know myjeepsbigger you mention you would have done this sober or while drinking.

The point simply is that wheeling is tough and dangerous enough, why add drinking into the mix. Save the drinking for the campfire or party later. Drink water and be alert and healthy.

No harm no foul, man. Let's just let it go. I see your point, and the horse is crying.

So you guys all think that someone that has a couple of drinks is automatically drunk? And you have never driven home from the bars after one or two?

And did he even say where it was? How do we know it wasn't his own property?

I'm not saying that drinking and driving is the smartest thing to do, but that doesn't mean you need to tear into him without knowing specifics.

Alright, now to move on :dunce: , you still havn't posted any "after" pics yet from using the tree. I'm curious as to what it looks like now.

Before (or after...depending on how you look at it.) And no, there's no booze in the cooler, I keep my electrical tools (wire crimpers, etc) in that cooler.

It's getting re-framed and caged. 4 bucket seats, fuel cell, etc.

Looks like your off to a great start, can't wait to see when it's finished. I keep thinking what I'll do if something like a tree attacks.
