gotta rant...... our honey moon moved to house.

KRONIK

NAXJA Forum User
let me start off by saying that we (Marhya and I) were going to spend our honey moon at Dragonmans.
we were gonna go shoot our guns. maybe rent a machine gun. maybe buy a grenade.
i heard things from people that it was fun out there.....

well i call them earlier.
i tell the lady that my wife and i were just married. and we want to come spend our honey moon out there.

she says to me....
well why would you wanna do that?

i say because we want to shoot our guns, and that i heard rumors that you can shoot machine guns and possibly throw a grenade.....

she says.
is that logical? does that seem like something you would be able to do?

i say,
i dont know. thats why im calling. ive never been to a range. just called to find out.

well she proceeds to tell me...
no, and you can tell whatever friend that told you that to stop doing acid.

so i ask, is that just for the grenades? can you rent a machine gun?

she tells me.
no, you cant do any of that....we only do a machine
gun shoot once a year in september, so you got marred at the wrong time.

i said ok. probably wont see you thursday then....

i must say. that was the rudest person i have ever talked to on the phone!
how the fawk am i supposed to know what they do out there. all there videos are blowing sh*t up and using machine guns.

all i did was call to find out and tell them we wanted to spend our honey moon out there..........
am i wrong for being kinda pissed?

anyway, rant over.
i wouldnt recommend anyone to go to dragonmans!

WE DO NOT RENT OUT GUNS ON OUR RANGE. YOU MUST BRING YOUR OWN.

that would lead me to believe you can't shoot a machine gun there. unless you own one, but that is highly unlikely

also, direct from the home page:
Our Annual Machine Gun Shoot will be Sept. 10th and 11th 2011!

that also leads me to believe that it is a one time thing.

come on, use your melon, who in their right mind would sell a bunch of random people grenades. do you know how many idiots would try and "cook" it like a video game and end up blowing themselves to pieces.....

be smart.:twak:

as far as her being rude... call back, ask for a manger...

chances are she was having a bad day and will apologize, if not they should fire her.

i didnt look at the website. i called.
i understand that after calling. i am more pissed about how i was treated.

they just dont seem to give a s**t there. i wont be calling back. nor will i be going there.

There are rude people all over the place these days. You should try dealing with doctors and hospitals for 2 months.
I think it's a shame.
sorry you have to deal with rude people in the hospital.
im glad i got it from dragonmans and not the hospital.

i really dont care about it any more. i was just a little pissed about the way i was treated over the phone.
i couldnt imagine how rude they are in person.

i mean, ya i was dumb for asking about buying grenades. but for them to tell me "whoever told you that, needs to stop taking acid." WTF?

glad she knows what acid does.
and im glad she assumes whoever told me is on acid...

if anything i thought they might be happy to have someone WANT to spend their honey moon out there.
nope..... i got "why would you want to do that?

oh well. ill take my business else where!

I used to go play paintball out there and the fields were really cool but I never did like dealing with the people, I chose it as the lesser evil though compared to Rocky Mountain Paintball (I think, over there by the junkyard just past B-Street???) who had a group of 10yrs olds with nothing to do all summer but play paintball day in and day out with 2,000$+ paintball guns. Made it hard to enjoy playing and learning the game when those kids basically ran the place.

I hate going to actually ranges to shoot. Almost all of them are like that.

Depends on the range and staff. I know - I worked at a range out here in CA for a few years (before demands on my time were such that I just couldn't do it anymore - fun way to spend four years of week-ends, tho!)

I did have to knock a few people off for doing rapid-fire on the ranges (after we'd told them not to - safety issue, most people can't even handle a proper double-tap with most centrefire ammunition,) and I had to downcheck a few targets on the "tin can" range (tin cans & plastic bottles only. They're easier to pick up. Fill them with water if you like - we had one guy who would use water-based tempera paint powder to make coloured splashes. Cool!)

The one that really stick out for me was the guy who brought a baby brass cannon. I was working the tin can range that day, and he flagged me over and told me he wanted to ask before he even got it out of the boot (good for about 25# - I don't want to schlepp it around if I don't have to, either.)

How in the Hell could I have said No to that? "Muzzleloader, right? Just be mindful of the three-minute warnings, and warn everyone else on the line before you touch it off."

Everybody loved it! He'd load it with a five-second fuse, and yell "Fire in the hole!" before he lit the fuse. Loaded with a handful of FFg and grapeshot, it hit pretty much everything downrange. About the third time he'd fire it (he'd touch it off about once every five minutes. About the third time, half of the pistol line and half of the 50-yard line would come over to see what was going on. A good time was had by all - he even let me touch it off a couple of times!)

So much of what's going on depends on personnel it isn't even funny. Get cool people, you'll have a good time (he brought enough hardware he'd have had fun even if I hadn't told him he could break out the cannon - but how could I have said No?)

EPILOGUE - The CRSO had just gone up the hill to the office when the cannon was broken out - he heard it go off the first time, and came running back down. I was at the other end of the line - the CRSO went up and asked him something, he pointed at me, the CRSO came over to me. "Did he ask you before he broke out that cannon?"

"Yah."

"You told him Yes?"

"How could I not have?"

"OK -just checking."

Even the boss was cool with it, once he knew the forms had been followed, nothing was endangered, and I explained the modified safety rules I'd applied. Problem solved!

Yeah, she sounds rude, on the other hand Dragonman's is the only public range available. I had my kid out there for paintball on this birthday with his buddies, and the dragonman himself came out and asked them if they like WW II stuff. Hell, yes! So he gave them a free tour of his museum. The kids were about 12 and totally in wonder at all the stuff he had. Where else can you touch a 2000 lb bomb? Zac has been there for the machine gun shoot(lucky kid) and loved that. I've heard nothing but good about the range. So if you really want to shoot there, call up, ask for Mel, and complain. I'm like you, piss me off and I'll never go back, but that was just phone BS. If wasn't like you were there and were treated like crap. FWIW.

This is what I would do-Mel is a pretty cool guy and he owns the place.Hes a big tatted-out biker from Jersey so expect a East Coast attitude. :D

Dragonmans has never sold hand grenades, the videos you saw of them blowing things up were likely done with a binary exp called tannerite that you can buy on line. It's bullet sensitive, I have seen people hunt coyotes with it, you can watch on you tube.

As for them being rude, you have to understand, they prob get calls from backwoods redneck retards all day lone that want to shoot in full auto and play with dynamite. I can see how it would get rather annoying, and on top of that, it's probably a border line illegal activity that they would rather not have associated with their business.

well im not a redneck retard.
i simply wanted to have a decent honey moon...

but telling me my whoever told me needs to quit doing acid?
thats good to know that she (representing that business) knows all about acid and tell would be customers to quit using it.

you can try and back them up all you want to.

1st impressions are key with a business.
1st impression of dragonmans- stuck up, rude, and disrespectful.
i dont like the way the b***h treated me over the phone.
disrespect will get you a middle finger from me!
simple as that.

I know you aren't retarded, I troll the CO chapter a lot and from what I can tell, you are a decent dude with a good rep. Re-reading my post I realize I came off a little harsh, my apologies. Try to put yourself in their shoes, it is flat out illegal to privately own hand grenades. I am a bomb technician for the US Army, I assure you it is true. Not only is it illegal, it is MAJOR jail time if you were caught in possession of one. Apply this to your line of work, if somebody kept repeating the some story that you were doing something in your tattoo shop which was completely untrue, and blatantly against the law, how would you feel every time a customer or perspective customer brought it up? I would want to squash that shit like a bug, not only is it a lie, it could be bad for business, not to mention the possible legal hassles. I have been to Dragonman's I assure you it is a fun place to shoot, and the staff I met were friendly. The stories that go on about that place are mostly likely just that, stories. I'm sorry if they were rude to you, but I'm sure it was in the interest of protecting their business.
