Vanco 15" brake kit has been fully installed and the brake-in has begun!!! Unfortunately, I should have replaced the factory brake lines when I was doing the work - like others suggested. My passenger banjo-bolt has the slightest of leaks after the first round of use. I tightened the banjo pretty tight - so just going to replace both front brake lines and re-bleed everything. I also replaced the stock steering with Currie steering!!!

I'll have better pictures of everything tomorrow.

Did you replace the aluminum? washers on the banjo bolts? They are really designed for a single use. If not, the brake line may be OK.

Yes I did! New banjo bolts and copper crush washers came with the kit. I just tightened the leaking bolt a little more, pressed hard on the pedal, and no fluid came out. I'm going to go for another drive to warm them up again and see how it does.

Are you running black magic pads?

If you are, make sure you follow the break in procedure exactly, and once you have them broken in, don't be a pussy to the brakes. Use them .harsher stops will keep the pads from glazing up.

Yea, running the black magic pads. I did follow the procedure. They seem to be working great. I haven't locked up the tires, but you can hear the stress in the tread when I get on it. The truck also brakes straight now, which it never has!

The only thing that has me concerned right now is a slight vibration when braking. I've verified all of the rotors are true and don't wobble when rotated on the wheel axle, which means it could be an uneven layer of friction material on the rotor. I was pretty careful about cleaning the rotors, per the instructions, so not too sure what the deal is. I can say that it seems to vibrate less, the more I drive it, so I'm not too worried about it tight now.

just a tip: you can re-use the copper washers by heating them up with a torch to expand the metal. works like a charm. also works well with copper gaskets.

Re-brake them in. That should get rid of any extra friction material. And use them hard, don't ride your brakes into a stop. That will cause glazing.

I've been driving all week and the vibrations are gone now.
