Anyone know of a good automotive machine shop in the San Diego area? I just had a spark plug shear off in the head and I need to get a machine shop to try and back it out and resurface it. Was curious if anyone knew of a reputable shop.

Jim & I have used them for a variety of stuff for more than 20 years and always been really happy with both the quality and the price. They can even correctly rebuild and do a valve job on those funky Audi 5 cylinder heads! They've done watercraft stuff, Chevy 350, Ford 460, Audi 5cyl, XJ 4.0, Honda CVCC, you name it, for us over the years. It's probably been a year or 2 since Jim's used them, but I doubt they've changed =)

Anyone know of a good local shop that makes custom axleshafts? I just got a custom 44/60 combo with chromo shafts and I'm looking to get a set of shafts made for trail spares. They don't have to be super fancy, just something that will get me home. I figured it would be easier to have them made now before the axles are under another Jeep...
Oh, and second on Marshall's hardware. The only thing I haven't found there is right-handed stainless metric (no joke... i work on euro motorcycles.) Can't beat their $3 t-shirts either. Just remember they are only open until noon on saturdays so don't sleep in too long...:speepin:

MIT or Mechanically inclined technicians in El Cajon. These guys are great they have a large shop capable of just about anything and they warranty all their work. They were even able to straighten a bent axle tube in an afternoon! They claim to be driveline specialists so if you are googling them search for them as such but really they can do anything.
