Heading out for the weekend, and was planning on going to Eagle Lakes, however with the approaching storm, and the fact i've got 6 kids going, i'm thinking that EL isn't going to work.

SOOOOOO, what are some good camping spots that wont cost anything? I'd prefer to stay up here in the Grass Valley area, but i'm open to ideas.

Its supposed to clear up this weekend. it will be cold but i dont know of anywhere else to go that is free especially this weekend.. Sugarpine is pretty kid friendly but not free.. Good Luck!!

Thanks for all the input, we're still looking around and finalizing plans. Looks like we'll be going sunday / monday now. Gotta get the GF's lift on and my lowers in before we go. If i find something good, i'll let you guys know.

I and some friends are going to Indian Valley Reservoir ( Google Maps ), you are more than welcome to join us.

Mostly it's going to be a sitting around / drinking. It is BLM land, so you can have fun, and we will be bringing toys to play with... :D

how far is indian valley reservoir?

Click the link! lol. It's not too far from Sac, some of my friends are coming from Folsom, thus why we are going there. There's no rocks really, but plenty of mud to get into more than enough trouble...

Yeah it's not too far... this will be my third time there, and each time it gets a tad bit better.

This was from the first time: http://www.tehlounge.com/t3nny/files/1/4x4nIndianValley/IMG_1238.jpg

I had to get a truck to pull me out, thankfully I found someone after hours...

The second time I didn't get stuck, but I pulled 2 people out (one was a friend, and one was a few people I found walking on the road looking for help.)

Also you can take the road over to clearlake if you want to do more sight seeing...
