Been looking to do a lot of camping this Summer, so far just been on a couple trips but looking for something different.

Cushman was FAR too regulated, and Capital Forest is always fun but it's where we always go.

I'd love to know some spots that maybe require some minor wheeling to get to, anything lakeside or within decent walking distance of a lake, just whatever some of your favorites are that you'd like to share.

Preferably something to drive to though, not hike into, I like having my rig there and don't want to haul a cooler full of beer anywhere more then the few feet out of the rig haha.

Alder Lake is good camping. Close to Elbe and the lake has camping all around it. Some are camp style and then if ya drive around it there is camping everywhere. Just fallow hwy 7 out of spanagay.

I go to red bridg out the moutian loop highway right on the stilly river hiking ice caves

The Mountain Loop doesn't have any true 4x4 trails but it does have a lot of dirt roads that are much more enjoyable in a 4x4 than in a Toyota Corolla wagon... :( There are a lot of great spots along the loop and Darrington and Granite Falls at each end for nice small towns. The Bedal campground about halfway on the loop is river side as is the Sloan Creek campground which is down an East turn just North of Bedal. On non-holiday weekends you can pretty much skip from spot to spot as you explore.

The olympic peninsula is by far one of my favorite places on earth.
Ho temperate rainforst, Sol Duc hotsprings, etc..
...if you're heading that far, though, you might want to check out Orcas islands, too.

im camping at fall creek in capitol forrest the 23-25

go south to the south fork lewis river. Follow it up to a gorgeous spot called sunset falls. Camp above the falls, swim and fish to your hearts content.

i read somewhere about most federal sites have whats called unregulated camping/disperced camping . rogue or guerrila camping as some call it. basically you have to be well out of sight of the main areas and do extra cleanup. not piss next to the river and your golden. look that up and then camp anywhere. might i recomend a hammock too hehe

The Quillomene/Colockum area near Vantage has lots of nice camping spots that require some moderate wheeling to get to. Some nice spots by the Columbia too. You need to get a green dot map and parking permit from the WSDFW.

Has anybody run trails out by Salmon La Sac? I've heard there were trails out there but I don't know if any of them are legit(legal) places to wheel. Salmon La Sac is a great place to camp and swim, you can jump off the bridge and with a little walk there are some very small ~10ft cliffs and a rope swing into about 20ft of water.

Yes, I have numerous times. The 4W301, 4W303, and 4W304 trails are all decent (Skatter Creek Ridge, Gallagher Head Lake, Van Epps Mine) The challenge level is moderate at best, you can make much of it in a stocker, but will want at least a few inches of lift, some 31"s, and a locker for spots. Very scenic up there with minimal traffic and a few great trailside camping spots.
