Gollum II..... The build begins.

I've already changed my mind on the link setup, though.
I think I'm gonna do triangulated three links in the front and rear.
The triangulated link will be the lower link on both.
They will be mirror images of eachother, with the exception of steering.

will the point of the wishbone be on the chassis or the axle? either way you will have a fairly low roll-center, and very low if it's on the axle. Is it gonna be full-hydro steering?

The point will be on the frame.
And I'd be crazy not to have full hydro.

And has anyone ever accused you of not being crazy?

Have you thought about fueling with propane? Not sure of all the pro's and con's, but it sure beats having to worry with a gas tank or fuel cell.

if you're starting with a carb'd motor, propane in a buggy makes a ton of sense, but if you already have fuel injection I don't think it's worth it.

Hmmm, keep wheeling the current rig while you build a buggy..........sounds familiar. :)

Good luck with the project, Terry. I picked mine up last weekend. All my dancing back and forth the last six months over this potential project is finished, it's full on now. I also need to decide on wheelbase, whether to go full hydro, and plenty of other things. Should be fun.........and a lot of work.

Ok, I started my second wheeler last fall when I scored an MJ in good shape and Dana 60 and 44 front axles. So far the MJ lost it's drivetrain to a different MJ that my son is driving and the axles are still in pieces. I'm betting you'll both beat me to a rig that runs! Jeff

Well, you'll have me beat for awhile.
I decided to unload it back to the original owner.
We just found another house to buy.
Besides, I'd really rather build another XJ anyway.;)
