To enter "GodMode," one need only create a new folder and then rename the folder to the following:

GodMode.{ED7BA470-8E54-465E-825C-99712043E01C}

Interesting results after you cd into it. Have fun.

the "GodMode" title was just for show and attention.

I have that same folder made with "Settings.{ED7BA470-8E54-465E-825C-99712043E01C}" and it works (just makes the resulting shortcut/folder named Settings instead of GodMode)

NOTE: THIS ONLY WORKS WITH WINDOWS 7 AND WINDOWS VISTA 32 BIT. DO NOT USE WITH VISTA 64-BIT.

If used with vista 64-bit, it will cause windows explorer to crash and you will need to boot in safe mode and force delete the file IIRC.

PC. Create a new folder on any PC running windows vista (32 bit only) or windows 7 and title the folder "anyname.{ED7BA470-8E54-465E-825C-99712043E01C}" (minus quotes, and anyname can be just that. Name it whatever you want, like I said, I used "settings").

It pretty much gives you a direct link to many of your options at a single click. None of that "go through 4 menus to get to change your screen resolution" crap. More or less condenses all of your control panel stuff into one simple list.

I would highly recommend upgrading to windows 7. I have been using it since early beta testing (ran it on and off while beta testing, sometimes encountered issues so I went back to XP if needed, but most of the time I could find a work-around or it wasn't a critical issue.. but incompatibilities were expected... it was early beta).

I have also been running the release candidate since it was released in early May last year. I was also an early adopter to vista. What i have to say is that XP WAS great, but windows 2000 was the "public beta" for XP. 2000 sucked, they fixed it for xp. Windows vista was the open beta for 7. Vista sucked (until SP3 at least) and it has been fixed for windows 7. I love it. My release candidate runs out in May and I will definitely have purchased my full version by then.

Microsoft probably made this because they turned the control panel into an impossible maze of settings. If it takes 10 clicks to find what you need then it’s not built right. Another trick is to change the control panel view to small icons.

Downside, it puts all the stuff you need to hose the system under one folder, have fun.

I don't know why I still remember those. But, I had even more fun with the Quake Console mode (I used to play with SV_GRAVITY and SV_FRICTION all the time. Make Q-matches much more interesting...)
