God mode

Mythbuntu is great, I love mythTV as well. I need to get a tuner card so I can bring in my satellite channels. Right now I just use it for music and movies. Great program. I am using a PS3 remote with bluetooth as a control.

The desktop running it is an old desktop that was shit hot in 2003. Athlon 2600+, geforce 5200, 1gb mem. Still runs it fine. Movies look good, if you have a better system than that it should be just fine. I want an actual media server, the mini towers with 4 drive bays are getting cheap.

well the old laptop can run warm if its on my lap for a bit, so my main concern would be overheating the old thing.
INTEL 1.73ghz
nvidia 256meg video w/ HDMI out and S-video out
1gig RAM (may up to 2)
DVD player/burner
it currently has Xubuntu on it, but I had thought of installing the LinuxMCE or Mythbuntu... more the Myth as I just want the simplicity of it.
thanks for the feedback

Since they are 2.5" I would guess they are SATA. But I could be wrong.
We have a bunch of HP servers here with 2.5" SAS drives, hence my question.

FWIW, there are 5 rx6600 HP-UX chassis in the data center with 16 (no, that's not a typo) SAS bays each.

Ron - do you have explorer set to show file extensions? This might be related, might not be, I'm not sure. I always uncheck "hide file extensions for known filetypes" as the first thing I do on a new windows install, having that set is simply asinine, and is probably to blame for the spread of many worms... do I want to open freemoney.doc.exe? Hell yes I do! It's just a word doc!
